OK ...i dont really have any long term ideas for plans except for getting the Collousus. After that time we can discuss what our options are as far as wonders or major infrasturctural projects.

First priority is getting the collousus started then moving on to building troops and defense. Those axes now will get upgraded later to better things. Horse archers also will be our UU when upgraded so building them now saves time later.

Second Priority will be completely working our tiles around Aloha to allow some flexiblity in who the tiles are worked. I feel Aloha should be at as close to Max stable population at all times(no unhappiness or health issues) However health doesnt bother me as much since they just eat more adn still produce hammers and commerce.

every city should be cottaged to bejesus to get the most out of our financial trait!

i disagree...it depends on the city. You have to customize each city. In a food poor city, you may have to farm to get over 2 food which will in turn feed another tile with 1 or no food.

well yes we're not going to be cottaging a hill but i mean every tile within reason should be cottaged.

I had an idea about our 4th city

The future city site are here

We seem to have agreed The light green site should be our 4th city. Once the jungles are cleared there is lots of grassland. I was thinking instead of cottages, we could build farms and make it our GP city. The site is not going to be high on production and other cities like hello can be designed for commerce. I think having a dedicated GP city will help us later in the game.

Finally our 5th city site which should also be founded this term, hasn't been decided, but i would like to get the horses within our borders, so i'm think the light blue site is the one to do. Cities 6 and 7 then should be put in place during term 6.

My only concern...is it will have alot of water and commerce would be a good thing there. Otherwise i am fine with a GP farm

the only thing is that i think as rob said it does have a quite a bit of water so maybe we could consider a city south of hello instead that is just all green/jungle-which can always be chopped.

Seeing how the game has developed so far, it seems no one is rushing to kill anyone. The fact that not one team has bothered researching Iron Working yet is fairly indicative.

Just to generate a bit of discussion if nothing else, given the situation is it worth going for another wonder?

For me, The Pyramids is worth a shot, especially since happiness is low and getting Herditary Rule or Representation would help ( I favor the latter myself since we will be running some specialists too). At worst if some beats us to it we get some extra gold to use for 100% Research. The only viable city in my mind for this is Hello since Aloha has the Colossus to do and Hej is just perfect for spamming settlers and workers.

The other is my fave, Hanging Gardens although this would be after all 7 core cities are established. Depending on the situation at the time any city is capable of building it, although if we did it in Hej it would give us 3 cities with a high culture output;)

Again this is not a strong suggestion but rather just throwing some ideas out there to be tossed around

I like the idea...I say we also start chopping the pyramids. Prechop till math then finish the chop

We will have maths in 2 so pre-chops are irrelevant. The only question in my mind is whether we build a forge first in Hello or just go straight for the Pyramids

chop forge??? then chop pyramids or all chops on pyramids.

I think all chops on pyramids would insure us the most gold if someone is a turn or two from finishing it. I say go for it.

I'm fine with going for Pyramids without forge. The thing is i want to the the Colossus chops first since thats our main goal.
We still have a couple of turns before the settler is done so i would like to hear some more opinions before then.

i dislike the idea, we dont have enough workers or settlers/cities founded. also if we are only going for the pyramids for hereditry rule we may as well just found it.

we are financial trait therefore representation will not be AS usefull as in theory we will be building a cottage economy and therefore wont be having as many specialists to make this usefull.

Also having a wonder that we only really want as a bonus bonus luxury is not really a good thing because we're painting a sign on our back-"come invade us because we have no military"

I disagree on a few points with you.

Representation will be useful for a while to us. We have a large food capacity but not the happiness to support it so we will have specialists working.

As far as the military aspect goes, we have the second largest military, there is no one near us, no one knows where we are except for Innovia who have rough directions and only warrior to get us with. Plus later on it might become handy to have access to Police State before it would otherwise be possible

Ive gotta say compared to the other ones police state is very useless unless a spiritual civic, it isnt worth the 2 turns of anarchy (1 turn in, another out).

Being usefull for awhile isnt exactly a huge plus point when you consider a city/worker will be usefull for ever.

I agree with bclg, I think more settlers and workers would be better than the pyramids, there is alot of land, so we want to expand alot, and we will need workers to build cottages for our economy...

This isn't completely on topic, but I also think we should head towards researching a religion soon...

I personally feel it is too late to found the pyramids.

While I would really like to see us in Representation currently I don't think we can make it there. It would be much better going for HR, this gives us all the happyness we need.

More workers, settlers, military and cottages are needed. While the gold from the pyramids would be nice I'd much rather see more settlers, workers and research towards HR and CoL, in the end I think this would give us much better output, research and gold, also Confus is still out there.

There are varying opinions on the Pyramids and while i was going to look at it, we don't have masonry so it doesn't really matter.

However given the course of the game, it is not typical of a human vs. human game. From what we can tell we are all spaced out. Until the previous turn no one had researched Iron Working. Apart from Innovia who only have rough directions, no one else knows where we are, no one is closer than Innovia and it seems we can develop a good relationship with them anyway.

Basically this leaves us in a postion where war is a long, long way off. So some of the standard tactics arn't going to leave us better off. This is a perfect situation to come up with different ideas, something that the other teams haven't though of, something that might give us an edge down the track.

So whether its wonders, research path or anything else i would like everyone to throw out an idea, no matter how crazy and see if we can come up with an action plan.

To start thing off here is a few thinkgs that have been whirlling around in my head.

One i already talked about is Hanging Gardens, which we could do after setting down our 7th city, otherwise i feel its wasted. Hello by that time would be a handy location to have it.

Another is beelining Music soon. One its a pre req for MT and our Cossaks so why not try and get a Great Artist too.

Should we go for a religoin ourselves. Taoism would be a logical choice given our research path.

As far as a Victory goes, its hard to tell given how little of the map we know, but i would say Domination might end up being difficult, Conquest is pretty much in the same boat. Diplomacy hmmm, maybe as a soft domination win. Time i think research will be too fast.

This leaves space and shock horror Cultural. And yes i know what is said about cultural being impossible against humans, but this game as i said is different and i have done some tests with SP games. It is possible but to pull it off it off (ie survive anyone attacking us) it would happen no earlier then around 1970. In the end the difficulty is that if technology progesses faster than that the the Space Race will be won sooner.

While in the end its too risky, could we use a cultural win as a tactic to lure another team into attacking us. Since WW does not effect the people fighing in their area the WW would be inflicted on the attacker, which could be very useful later on if we want to cripple someone.

Anyway i could rattle on for a while but i what everyone to put there thoughts down too, big or small:)

1. religion ..go for Taoism.
2. Space appears to be teh only way to go and Dave taught us how to do that one...internet, "pre-build" with overflow of chops/whipping so spies can cut production. Problem there is dave used teh turn timer to switch out every turn...we cant do that.

Wars before tanks and bombers may be nothing more than annoyances. The real territory gains will happen once tanks come in and we have arty fighters and bombers to knock down defenses. A strong navy will be important due to the long distances.

I have a thought... I have some doubts that Innovia is our closest neighbor, because then the game will go at a very slow pace. My guess is that there is another continent right out of our view on the ocean. So another civ could be about 10 tiles away from us...

So here are some priorities:
1. Religion
2. Cottages
3. Naval exploration

I don't have much experience with culture wins on Civ4, I know on civ3 that if you didn't try for one your first turn, it would be near impossible to get enough culture by 2050, but I don't know how that affects civ4...

I am going to open up the save and try and figure out some stuff about the map
