Thats it! I'm going to disable random events.

That slave revolt is NOT random. I get it EVERY FRIGGEN TIME!

Random means... it's not predictable. Yet I guarantee you if I'm starting out, it's going to happen.

that just means you should not stay under slavery...
I'm quite a slaver, but in BtS I wait until I plan to actually rush something before switching to slavery and I use caste system a lot more now.

The random events are excellent, probably the best addition to BtS of all. :)

It certainly beats out the Airship and the espionage system...

The fact that Slavery is now balanced using random events is very nice, and could have been used even more. Though I guess there could be a warning on the civics screen itself, just for good measure...

IMHO the random events should be things that either help on some areas or make it more challengive on others. It shouldn't be a roll of dice if you lose or if you win.

I agree, unfortunately the nature of randomness will cause your luck to be lopsided in many games, whether good or bad. Whilst acquiring the Health Plant "might" not turn a loss into a win on its own (unless the game is very close), combine it with freebie great people, and lots of nice positive diplomatic modifiers, and it could greatly alter the pattern of play. Contrast this with a game where you have none stop bad fortune, slave revolts, buildings destroyed, towns destroyed, barbarian invasions, neg diplo events, and I think the random factor has more influence than it deserves in a game renowned for "strategy".

Just my opinion.
