ALC Game #25: Celts/Boudica

OK, we can discuss spoilers about this map, then.

Spoiler :
Firstly, Mansa and Saladin were both working on the Mids. Zara and Shaka are each isolated on their own landmass. Also, Nappy in semi-isolated; he's on his own landmass, but within Gally range of another continent. I don't think you had much of a chance on this, but I'm a Noble player.

I would have built a huge navy and take them out 1 by 1 once we are done with Saladin!

Spoiler :
This map was very easy. The only real threats for AI's are Mansa (for teching) and Zara Yaqob. Mansa was on our continent, so we should have been able to deal with him easily, and Zara's isolated so he's a nonfactor. The other "real" continent had Toku to screw everything up, so once again, no real threat...

What I would do...

Spoiler :

Build a stack of axes (not GW as Iron Working takes too long to research) and kill Saladin ASAP. Then, befriend Mansa while trying to grab the rest of the land on the continent. Mansa should be able to trade with you AND found a religion as well so that's my reason of not killing him. So, basically, get some Great Scientists from the capital (or another high-food area) and bulb your way to Liberalism. Continue teching to rifles and/or cannons before Mansa does and wipe him out. This depends on Mansa's tech speed, though, as Mansa does tech well but usually ignores Replaceable Parts/Rifling until much later than necessary. The reason I would delay attacking Mansa is because of his Unique Unit, the Skirmisher.
