Changing the song and keeping the artist is one or two actions?

[A song that's been out for 2 months is by definition nowhere near one of the greatest ever]

Being old doesn't make a song any better. A song could be out for a week, and it could still be one of the greatest ever.

True dat. 'Friday' by Rebecca Black will suck in a hundred years' tiem still while The Dubliners will continue to shine.

Being old doesn't make a song any better. A song could be out for a week, and it could still be one of the greatest ever.
"Greatness", when discussing art, implies that a song has some collective significance, and time is a pretty major prerequisite for that in all but a handful of cases. We're not so much looking for a list of songs that we all consider enjoyable- that's a sure fire way to end up with thirty lower common denominators, for a start- but of songs that we can all agree are worthy of respect and recognition.

(Edit: Noting that this is still a little bit subjective. I suspect that if me and Takhisis were left to our down devices, we'd end up putting together a "Best of the Dubliners" track listing.)
