The all new, totally accepted, bigotry thread - "Blame a Christian"

Look! Someone bumped the hypersensitive thread ;)
Hypersensitive? On the contrary. This was just an attempt at organizing the widespread littany of insults into one convenient location.

where in the new testament does it say that it is no longer required to bake your barley cakes with dung that cometh from man?
Hahahahah... man, you are funny.
Where does it say we can now eat lobster? Or any other of the myriad very specific rules?
When you've answered that, you'll understand why the OT is mainly for historical purposes (and to validate Christ's coming, with the prophecies of the OT stating he would).

here are no verses in the Bible that says the New Testament supersedes the Old Testament. In fact, Yahushua (Jesus) himself says he did NOT come to abolish the old testament, but to fulfill it. If the New Testament superseded the old testament so as to make the old testament not apply anymore, then Yahushua was a liar. What is more, is that the Law of Moses is prophesied to still be Elohim's (God's) standard for righteousness. We see especially in Ezekiel 40-48 that the temple is going to be built again for the millennial kingdom, animal sacrifices are still required, levitical priesthood is still in effect, and Sabbaths and the "jewish" feasts are still obligations to observe. Even in Zechariah 14 we see it says that all people must celebrate the feast of tabernacles. ALL people, and if they don't they will be given plagues. the context of this prophecy is clearly set in the millennial kingdom, as we can see that there was apocalyptic scenarios that had just occurred, and it is at this time that all the nations can, are expected, and explicitly commanded to visit jerusalem on an annual basis for at least the feast of tabernacles. seeing as how this prophecy has not yet been fulfilled, if you believe in the truth of the Bible, then this prophecy can only be applied in the millennial kingdom. but, if the law of moses was abolished, why is it required to celebrate the feast of tabernacles? there are many other arguments, but this is just the beginning of it. basically, every argument people try to use in the new testament is a misunderstanding of that passage, and often attributed to translational bias. one thing people try to say is that the new covenant abolished the law of moses. that is not so! the new covenant abolishes the flaw with the old covenant, and the flaw is that people were NOT keeping it. However, in the new covenant, people WILL be keeping it because it will be written on their hearts. what will be written on their hearts? Elohim's LAW. Also, the criteria of the new covenant applies only for Israelites. It is a promise he made to literal Israelites, and anyone who has been grafted into the Israelites. we are not yet in the new covenant.

well, by googling, i found this answer on yahoo( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100124194722AA8KVlS).

so basically christians are idiots who dont understand their own holy book.

No Ziggy, it's not hypersensitive, it's just a reaction to the 'widespread littany of insults'.

The problem I have with you k-man is that I can't decide whether you're serious or very funny. You get the benefit of that doubt though. :)

What you are confusing is the cleanliness laws, those that make things unclean or clean are specific for the Jews only and the Holiness laws that are applicable to everyone. God explained that to Peter about the cleanliness of Animals n Acts 10 where he tells Peter to eat Kosher animals and he refuses until God shows him that those things are now cleansed under God. But we see mention in parts of the NT in reference to the Holiness laws, such as Homosexuality, so those laws are still in effect today.

so is eating the dung of men about cleanliness or about holiness?

The Ezekiel verse was given as a curse to the rebellious Jews.

People generally do not eat dung, because it has lost most all of it's nutritional value. As long as it is cooked to kill all unwanted bacteria, it is probably "filling" but not very satisfying.

If one is told they are cursed, then they probably cannot even afford to eat anything but their own dung. Although if that is your only diet, that too would run out eventially, no pun intended.

Damn, God was surely very active at that time.
I wonder why he went from being a Hollywood deity that makes fire rains from Heavens, split seas, resurect the dead and other honest-to-good miracles, to a completely absent concept in heavens.

Human philosophy and the emerging sciences. It was time for grace to do the action. Humans had finally developed a brain to use and think with?

You're suggesting that Judaism was founded during the time humans had undeveloped brains? The corollary to that is that Christianity was founded around the time that human brains were nearly fully developed and that Islam was was founded long after human brains finished doing so.

Which philosophy, and which sciences? It's a big world, especially in those days.

I sprinkle in both, and it can be very hard to tell over the internets without seeing my facial expressions...

It is much like dragons and angels. It is difficult to understand why they no longer visit us.

If people no longer got possessed or saw Jesus in a slice of pizza now and then, they might start losing their faith.

One would think that a vengeful and hateful god would have at least smitten the Nazis for perpetuating the Holocaust against his chosen people.

Well, if it wasn't prophecied as a punishment for rejecting Christ... but you'd surely already know that... since it has been posted here many times already.
