The American Mod

So I was thinking of adding a civ called "The American Central Power" (or something else you suggest) which would be presidents because most presidents led the nation, not necessarily regions. Good idea? Suggestions?

Here's what I plan on for the geographic civs, Red is Midwest, Cyan/Light Blue is Great Plains, Green is the Pacific Northwest, Dark Blue is the California Bear Flag Republic, Dark Gray is the Lone Star Republic/Texas, the weird mauve color is Deseret, Yellow is Deep South/Gulf Zone, Pink is South, the patterned states are the Thirteen Colonies/Atlantic Seaboard.

So, thoughts? Does anything need to be moved? If not, I'll get to work on those after Patriots, Abolitionists, and Native Americans :).

Well, I can't seem to find any good ideas for Abolitionist UU's and UB's, they'll either be dropped or put on the back burner for a while. Now, I've been thinking of the whole issue of leader overlap now with the geographic civs Eg: Ford is absolutely instrumental in Michigan, so I would put him in the Midwest, but should he also be in Industrialists? Should I scrap the current classifications and just go with the geographic areas and place people in their birthplace or place they made the biggest impact?

Also, I need ideas for UUs and UBs for the geo civs. Texas will have Ranch and Ranger but beyond that, I'm pretty stumped for the other civs. Any suggestions?

History in the Making gives Texas Sam Houston and George Bush as leaders, the Ranger(Cavalry) and BH-1 Lancer(Jet Bomber) as UUs, and the Range(Stable) and H-E-B(Supermarker) as UBs.

Awesome, thanks for the tip, it should make Texas a walk in the park to make now. Any comments on my other babblings to myself?

Version .7 is up! Patriots and Native Americans are included. Here's the link, it'll also be on the OP.

Now I plan on playing a game and documenting it (cough Civ4 S&T cough) while working on adding some civilopedia and diplomacy. I still have yet to get anywhere on regional civs besides Texas.

So, my current thoughts on Texas: UUs and Ubs from History in the Making plus Space Center (replaces Observatory, +25% production of space parts) and as for the other UU, I'm at a loss, I could use some help. For Midwest, I'm thinking Grain Silo (replaces granary, extra food storage or +1 food), Automobile Factory (Factory, +25% Gold) And Public University (the Wisconsin Plan) (University, +15% Commerce). UUs have yet to be decided as well. Any suggestions?

Yes, they'll help with current civs but mostly be used for the regional ones, given how nicely they're ordered. Thanks for that, by the way :). Tomorrow will probably be a day of hardcore modding for me so even if I can't think of regional civ stuff, I could get some diplo and civilopedia entries done (but only if all else fails, it's still my least favorite thing to do)

Here's a picture of my flag for the Midwest, tell me what you think. I have Wheat and a cow, so I think it sums it up pretty well. I'll clean it up a bit soon as well.

EDIT: Now it's this to better match the civilization color.

Tomorrow I'll release the new edition with Texas and the Midwest as civs. I fear I made have made the most riciculously defensive unit for it's era, it couldbe fun to set up a line of forts on your border and let the Iron Brigade defend them.

Here are those things I was supposed to look up. Pacific northwest people: Bertha Knight Landes; Chester F. Carlson; Bill Gates; Seattle Dwamish; Smohalla; T. H. Bell; Frank F. Church; Fred Dubois; Sally Stanford
