i gotta prob with the vanilla version of the mod... doesnt seem to work. says the .bic files might be corrupt and it otherwise wont recognize them. i dled it into my civ3 folder just like i was told. possibly might not be anything wrong with the order of files tho cuz i'm using a dled (bootleg) version of civ3. could that be the problem?
Sharware and/or CracKed copies allways have issues with mods; so get a fullgame cd-rom or download and everything should be fine. :)

i knew somehow i was gonna catch hell for sayin i had a crack copy of civ3. and yes i plan to get civ 3 complete. i used to have it. i just havent had the chance to go out and buy it.

also i'd just like to say tam is the best mod ever. practically another game in itself. i even based a mod i created on it. check it out. AOTR

yes a cheap plug. what can i say?

Hello Thamis
Says I, the creator.
As the creator of this detailed and well thought out mod, I wonder if you could help me with a small problem.
I have had the TAM mods for a few years and have just reinstalled tam_2.1_ptw_full into Civ III PTW and TAM25i (updated to TAM25j) into Civ III Conquests.
I started playing TAM 2.5j Fertile Crescent but found that the date does not change. Every save has the same date 'NOV' and of course overwrites the previous save.
I had a look at the Scenario properties with Civ3QEdit and found the 'Time option' unchecked, although the Start year is 8000BC with a 460 turn scale covering 8520 years of game play.
I have made several scenarios for PTW all of which have time constraints, so I tried checking the Time option of TAM 2.5j but that had no effect. The game still has no year, even when I started a new game
Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?
Thanks

It is puzzling. As this has never happened with any other scenarios, I decided to try others in Civ III Conquest. I found that none of the original or older scenarios or conquests were affected - MP Middle Ages, With Plague, etc - not even the new multiple scenario ‘Three Kingdoms’ that I had just downloaded.
But the five TAM 2.5j scenarios and the new ‘Desert’ scenario (that I downloaded along with ‘Three Kingdoms’) are all affected with the same start date problem of 'NOV.' that does not alter throughout play.
I even tried moving the TAM folders and their respective Civ3QE Docs from the ‘Scenarios’ folder to ‘Conquests’ folder. That made no difference.
So the mystery continues.

Go into the "Scenario Properties" tab, and cheack:
1) If something on the screen is set to "months" instead of "years"
2) All the numbers on the bottom right of the screen. If any of them/all of them are set to "0", then that's your problem right there.

(P.S. sorry for not using any specific names, but I don't have any form of editor on this computer).

Thanks for the suggestion. But as Thamis can verify, the 'Scenario Property' setting is not set to a time limit (I tried checking that earlier but it does not correct the date problem). Each TAM scenario has a 'Base unit of Time' in 'Years' and the 'Time Scale' is set for various 'turns' each with 'units' of varying numbers - none is '0'.
Oddly enough the new 'Desert' scenario does have a time limit but it is also behaving in the same manner 'NOV.' non-date manner.

I just tried the Fertile Crescent out and the save games saved with the proper names. It has to have something to do with your installation or perhaps you got a corrupted download. Nobody else has reported this to be a problem.

Thanks. I have all the patches (Civ III v1.29f, PTW v1.27f, Conquests v1.22full). It's funny that all the other scenarios, including the new 'Three Kingdoms' scenario (and I have lots) have never had this problem.
As suggested, it may be faulty downloads, so I will uninstall all 'MOD' and the 'Desert' scenarios, re-download and try again.

It´s happened to me with Rood and Dragon, but I think it´s because I don´t have civ3 v1.22. I´ll check when I finish downloading TAM to see if the same happens.

Having reinstalled everything, including Civ III after my recent hard drive format, I 'thought' that I had re-installed the Civ1.22full patch for Conquests. After the problems I have been having with MOD, I installed the patch again, downloaded MOD again and re-installed it into the 'Conquest' folder. The game date now works. Installing MOD into the ‘Scenarios’ folder probably caused the problem in the first place.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Cheers.:)

for which city size should someone go in these GREAT MOD?

normaly i set the next city 3 fields away from the last, so it is build at the 4th field.
with a river/aqueduct the town goes up to 8, and the hospital is available at imperial age.....

Does anyone know if the plain vanilla version has been updated after the 1.2 version? It still feels a little unfinished with many civilopedia entries missing and unfinished scenario maps. And by the way, when I trie to load "Final map of Alexander the Greats Domains" the game shows an error and says it's missing find the civilopedia entry for Factory and after that the game shuts down..

some info would be appreciated

Welcom to Civfanatics :)

1.2 is the final TAM version for vanilla civ3. If there is a problem with the map, then you won't be able to play it unless you know enough about modding to fix it yourself.

Hi I've been playing the version on Random map. Just wondered why after the end of the ancient age it is no longer possible to view or trade technology?
