The Ancient Mediterranean MOD

Hi

Here's a bug i've found: I've played on marathon speed and about 1/4 through the tech tree the game ended because time expired. I remember having the same problem with an earlier version of TAM, maybe 1.2 or 1.3. (the problem was fixed in the next versions)

Anyone else having trouble getting 1.7 to even load? I'm 0 for 3 now. It gets beyond the XML part and kicks to desktop. Bizarre. I know it's alpha.

woodelf, again make sure you deleted your former TAM folder, and delete the old map as well (which is like in the Public Maps folder). Instead, launch the game by opening up the new map which I provided for download.

EugenB, you're welcome, but it's Shqype.

Ick of the East, I'm glad it's working.

I only have one thing to complain about:p The tiber resourse?? doesent look like timber or trees or anything, think it should be removed or something. why not make a pile of logs instead?

There's a timber resource???

You need to delete the previous TAM folder from your computer, and delete the previous maps as well (whether they are in the PublicMaps folder and/or in the TAM folder). Then use the first link to download and install the mod, then use the second link to download the quick map-fix, and replace the map which comes with TAMv17.

Timber allows speedy production of ships and siege weapons.

Love the mod.

Things I've noticed:
Can't mine tin.
I was trying to build Plato, someone else beat me to it, but it still appears in my build list.
Build Grove always appears when build farm does.

Verastro, thanks for your findings.

I realize that tin cannot be mined. That will be fixed. So will the grove improvement.

I don't know what the deal is with Plato's Academy, though.

@To mod-team:

Can you implement food trade into mod? About historical accuracy, Rome heavily relied on trade supply from almost anywhere in Oykumena (for example, grain from Egypt, olive oil from Greece, meat from Gaulia, spicery from East and etc.). Once Empire exhausted resourses to finance structural disproportions and trade system fell apart, urban population (and especially urban population of capital itself) rapidly declined.

A few issues:

Once you can mine the tin, you should need both tin and copper to make bronze weapons.

Why is Druidism such an early religion? It is several thousand years younger than Egyptian and Babylonian religions. (I hope you aren't thinking that the Druids built Stonehenge, are you? The Celts & Druidism arrived in Britain when Stonehenge was already over 2,000 years old).

Nobody ever seems to want to trade anything for either clay or papyrus.

That Caesar head I gave you seems to have an alpha channel in it, because it doesn't show up.

Thanks!

I did delete the old folder, but not the map. I've also never loaded a game from a map, but I'll try. Thanks Shqype.

Some more observations.

What does clay do, does it give som bonuses for buildnings?

I lose intresst in all my endgames due to the fact that every tilt is worked and the historical feel of the mod is lost all together. Having roads and improvements in every singel tilt is a real downer.

Could worker actions be much more expensive, or is there any other action you coule take? Perhaps making som tilts unworkable? Not every hill in the real world got a mine on it like in civ.

Hi Ppl

two questions to this mod (sorry 72 pages are to much to read ^^)

I´d like to play this game via Web with friends, does multiplayer work ?
and does the 1.7 Version exist or is it in planning ? (when yes, where can we dl it ?)

Thx and best regards Bheleu
