Well the first alpha version should be released sometime this month, but the beta and final version release dates are unknown to me, could be this year, could be next year, I don't know. However I am swinging for a summer beta version, but it's not a promise.
 
Awesome! I was not expecting it for quite some time. But summer test would be great!

On a related note, since Afforess found out how to add more resources do you think we should add space related resources that only can be obtain through space exploration and colonization? Here are some ideas...

- Water Tanks (This would be important in colonization)
- Air Tanks (This would be important in colonization)
- Alien Microbes (Rare)
- Alien Flora (Very Rare)
- Alien Fauna (Very Rare)
- Alien Artifact (Extremely Rare)

Also maybe some sort of rare mineral that only forms in space or on an alien world.
 
I'm skipping the alien things for the base modmod and saving them for Alien Outbreak. I like the water tank and oxygen tank idea, perhaps I'll even throw in an Oxygen tank space station. On a related note, I was thinking more of foreign elements that aren't native to Earth yet very useful (for example Unobtanium [happens that the word unobtainium is used as a metaphor for a hard to get yet very useful metal, which Avatar took the word in a very unimaginative fashion.])
 
I was thinking of Unobtainium, just by reading the description. Give it a fancy name and some pseudo-scientific "facts" and you're ready to go :)

Looking back over the posts I thought of another modmodmod and am going to put it up on the shelf for later; Planet Depletion. With it's own mega mining techs that can waste an entire planet within two years from arrival. Planets will have a set net value of metal which will decrease turn by turn when being mined.

Should the homeworld get depleted too? Thus giving a reason to go to space?
 
Sure, why not? All it needs is a global counter for the number of resources able to be discovered, once the number is hit, no more new resources.

Yea, I've been workin' on the techs, over halfway done. The techs by themselves will be the first alpha release, make sure anything isn't missing or broken. It'll also give os79 a chance to whip up a gamespeed patch for it.
 
Okay, so I drew out a screen button for the new window, tell me what you guys think of it. The bordering white is an alpha channel on the dds version, which will fit itself over the tan button the game uses.
EDIT: Nevermind, Ima redo the button, it looks crappy in game.

made another button, hopefully it looks better in game
EDIT: much better, it's in the upper right hand corner in the screenie, i'll have to reposition it to the left side of the screen.

Okay, I figured out how to get the screen to scroll, so this means I will have one screen with everything on it.
