The CFC Guild Wars Discussion Thread

Guesting will make it easy to play with anyone you want. The PvE content, and all your boons, and everything you gain from your time "Guesting" on another server, will apply and function in exactly the same way as if you were playing on your home server. But there are a few caveats:

1) Guesting is not available yet. And I don't think we know when that will be. Hopefully very soon.

2) You can't do World vs World while guesting on another server. So if your friend is on server A, and you are on server B, you will never be able to participate in a World vs World even in the same team.

3) Probably other things I can't think of.

I've yet to actually join a guild... hopefully I'm not missing out on too much.

So now that Guild Wars 2 has been released, I've finally got it downloaded, but I can't play it yet :/ I really dislike having to choose a home server since now I have to wait for my friend whom I will play the most with to reply back about what server they are on :/ I liked Guild Wars 1's lack of "home" servers, it certainly made it easier to play with friends (a major reason I bought this game in the first place).

Server transfers are supposed to be free for a short while after launch, so you might check into that. If so then you can start now and then transfer when your friend starts.

I'm playing on Anvil Rock right now. Not sure, I think one of my RL buddies transferred to another server, so if so I'll be moving to join him.

How's everyone doing for getting crafting materials? Particularly the "fine trophies" or whatever they are. The blue ones; scales, claws, blood, etc.

I seem to be perpetually short on them, and scales in particular are mad expensive right now.

There aren't many solutions except hunting down the correct enemies and hoping they drop it. Also, salvaging the correct type of items when it comes to jute and some mats that can't just be bought.

But yes, for blood, claws and the like, it seems killing the right type of enemy, especially with +% magic find items or food consumed, is the way to go.

Yeah the blue ones are kinda rough. Good I say, crafting gives a pretty crazy amount of XP, so there has to be SOME work involved in it.

Yeah I haven't done very much crafting yet, especially since anything I can craft is pretty much useless junk.

That rapidly ceases to be true when you hit the second tier of crafting (75). The gear you'll be making is very competitive with what you'll find out there, and much more reliable, if somewhat expensive.

I hope a video like this can get some attention. I can't count the number of times I've seen NPCs start talking after the end of a dynamic event, only for everybody to run off, finding myself alone talking to the NPCs or waiting to continue the chain of events. Sometimes I'd fail because I was alone, and that was just after 10 people were completing the first part of the event chain.

I'm on Guild Wars 2 if anyone's interested in playing. Playing on the Far Shiverpeaks server. :)
