I thought you said the item was almost worthless. In any case, 15 PC is way more than you bought it for.
I might also mention that you said that you have no problem with giving PC to mafia, which I can't help but raise my eyebrows at, Kennigit.

So, for any of the people who are curious as to what happened. Zack believes I am anti-town for my post the other day when I said I can provide funding for any abilities that may require PC--if there are any.
So Zack and I had a bit of a PM exchange--maybe 8 or so--and I proposed a couple ways that I think PC could have been incorporated in the game. Pretty simple things--we have seen no mafia/killer kills yet, so I thought maybe killers need PC to kill. Similar to TFA's NotW where many people had currency-based abilities. Hence the mafia would pool their money together to try to hire killers that may need 30, 40, 50 PC to kill. I mean, if everyone really wanted to, they could have 10 PC a day. Everyone could have 60 or so PC by day 7 if they wanted, so hopefully the GM set ways to use up that postcount. What fun would it be to have 10 people sitting around with 70 unused postcount?
Anyways, Zack immediately responded that I was doing nothing that rambling, and clearly I was a mafia And talking to ATPG, who was also a confessed killer. No townie would give away money to a mafia! And I explained that I wouldn't just give away money, but listen to what people said. But he insisted I would do nothing and give money to the mafia, and I said I wouldn't mind spending some of my vast amounts of money if it led to some interesting gameplay. And I said Zack can go ahead and sit back, hopefully finding 2 or so innocent scanners, and just pray and hope to get lucky to find mafia. Meanwhile I'll play the game.
edit-- since this is unclear, the part where Zack cut off the PM was how I said have fun sitting around not doing anything, and not being interested in the mechanics of the game (remember, he said I was rambling. So either he knows how the mafia/kilelr system works, i.e. he is mafia, or he actually doesn't care). He in turn said have fun giving out your money, and I said I would.
As for the virus Zack, as I mentioned day 1 I have a computer that with the virus handbook can write viruses. It just so happens I have a personal goal related to viruses. So yes, the item is fairly worthless as choxorn said, but since I am richy mcrich, I don't mind spending 15 PC to get an item to secure a personal goal. When you're rich, money is a trivial thing.
