The complaints of inflation are insane.

The crime was horrendous those decades, you sure the progressive plan was working?
And it got way worse after that in the Reagan-Bush years and only got better when Midgely’s Mob aged out of crime.

Cut the bullfeathers we know crime wasn’t caused by progressivism.

Doubling down on argument that doesn't jive with people's lived experience... What could go wrong? Oh right.
F that if they’re full of it they’re full of it, no being on the winning team makes them honest.

True it peaked in the 70s, brief dip in the mid 80s, almost hit the same peak in the late 80s and early 90s and then dipped consistently until Trump’s first term and then dipped again during Biden’s.

We can correlate the surge and drop to lead in gas with similar time lags across countries with different lead dates. Other reasons too. Crime is down but concern for crime is way up so vote for the criminal. The complaints about crime are even more insane.

My whole point is crime didn't start going down until Republican mayors like Rudy Giuliani got elected and went tough on crime. Dems later got on board ala Clinton with his criminal reform bill to fight the "super predators".

Crime went down universally in the whole developed world at the same time when we banned leaded gas. Nothing else mattered otherwise you'd see variable trends due to politics in regions. So called tough on crime is irrelevant.

Some. It was some of it.

Wow I didn't know Guiliani could bring down crime in cities that went counter to that trend AND SAW THE EXACT SAME DROP

The inflation is transitory.

But what about all those idiots who make fun of it being called transitory, by writing "tRaNsItOrY"? Pay them no heed, transitory means TIME_OF_EVENT + EVENT_UNWIND_PERIOD. So that means the years of covid plus a couple more years. That's transitory. Months-long oil crises in the 70s (there were 2) each caused about three years of inflation.
And it's unwound faster than precedent. That makes sense as we have much faster shipping + corporate repricing abilities in the cyberpunk 20s than the faxpunk 70s.

Rudy saw more murders in his town in one day than any other mayor has seen in a year.

I do not think they are counting 2001 right.
You mean the WTC deaths? If so, I think those deaths are likely counted differently than the ongoing street and domestic violence deaths.

The graph is not titled "ongoing street and domestic violence deaths".

I don't think "murders" covers "terrorist attacks" in most statistics either.

That would skew the statistics too much, a single terrorist attack in a small country would totally distort the average, we have apparently about 185 murders in a year, 22 march 2016 accounted for 33 in a single day.
