The drawing thread

Ugh, I want to upload my drawings really badly, but my scanner's bust (I tried to scan stuff in, but for some reason it enjoys preemptively cropping my picture).

I can try to do MSPaint drawings, but I doubt they will compare in any way to my hand-drawn stuff.

Combining these three outfits(and addin' a bit of the Oogie flair):

I get:

We might as well rename this "Taniciusfox's gallery", since everyone else seems to not draw anything... I feel so cold. :(

Anyway, I did a new character sheet(black and white) for the DYOS character I recently introduced, Voltaire. He's a hedgehog, obviously. Albeit a more anthro one. And with LIGHTNING power!

As a side dish, I included an older pic of him, but one that is colored, for reference.

Annnnd crap. I haven't drawn him in so long I forgot the "V" on his chest extends into fur that runs up his neck...

Thats the feeling I have with the 3D modeling thread. I dont want to spam it too much with my Gmod creations. Plus I draw crappy anyway...

..cant draw people...

...and lack a scanner

I would be posting lots, but I haven't made any new complete work in a while, and what I have in store currently is either mediocre at best, or it lacks the characters and settings I'd like to show off.
That, and DYOS is taking alot of my time. :p

But if CivGeneral is okay with it, I could post his birthday-present on this thread as well, since it is a rather recent work.

Well, now that exams are over the 3D modelling thread should get a bit more activity from me. :)
Check it!

It was suggested I put these up in this thread so more folk could see them.

Bit of background: It's from DYOS XI, in which a hacker has shut down Off-Topic. Since I've drawn Off-Topic folk once or twice, I wanted to cover what happened to the poor sods if the forum was shut down. What followed was some Doctor Who-love, a few in-jokes and a personal arena to air my grudge against a specific poster, all with varying degrees of artwork quality...

Haaax!!! Some thoguhts and impressions:
What do you mean by 'those guys weird me out'?
I knew Poland wasn't in europe at all, it's in outer space.
A Fgench engineer? Is zat Steph? :p
And the fourth picture is clipped.

The engineer is Masquerouge.

As for the clipped panel, try refreshing the page.

I've gotten a couple oil painting portrait commissions that I've been working on several hours a day. I really don't have anything to post right now because of this; unless people want to see portraits of complete strangers.

I would. :)

Portraits done by you? Of course!!!

Well alright then. I'm still working on a painting right now and I have another painting that I probably shouldn't post due to nude content (tasteful female nudity).

This first image is an oil painting of my friend. It's about a meter tall (I forgot the exact dimensions). I am not very satisfied with this photo because it looks excessively orange and kind of blotchy in some areas, but it is the best I could do. I worked probably altogether a good 30-40 hours on it. It was very challenging because the subject wasn't able to pose for it, nor did I have a very good photo from which to reference. I had a blurry photo of him in a plain chair and I had to come up with all the background and clothing on my own. If I were a professional I would have my subject do a sitting, and/or I would take pictures with a quality camera in a studio. It's supposed to very ostentatious and pompous in a tongue and cheek kind of way.

I can't imagine there are any baseball fans that frequent this thread, but this a montage of Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks using acrylic paint. I painted this for my Grandmother who was just hospitalized and had to go through serious back surgery and is currently recovering. Ernie was her favorite player in the 1950's and 60's. The canvas is very small at 30.5 cm x 35.6 cm (12"x14"). I really had to use a small brush and my fine motor skills to paint the smaller figures.

You, sir, are magnificent.

You don't have to be a baseball fan to realise that those are well done. The wrist watch worn by your friend looks slightly odd... too big... is that part of the whole tongue-in-cheek-ostentation thing?

, no he actually has a real watch like that. The watch is even bigger considering he is 2.07 meters tall (6'8"). That is one of the few real things in the painting (the snifter is another). There is supposed to be some fore-lengthening with that arm as well.

2 meters tall? That watch must be humungous then...

The fox returns!

Known as Reynaud, after numerous cameos he finally has a canonical role in DYOS XI as one of the leading software pirates... that is, if I ever get my affairs in order and make an introductory comic. He was one of the very first characters featured when I took up the pencil in DYOS, although he predates my involvement in the tradition; and my God, have I ever improved over those four years. When they say practice makes perfect, they aren't kidding.

The coat, pants and hat should be darker than pictured here; I didn't have enough space at the top of the page to put a feather in his cap. The scanner also ate the shading on his tails. The uniform as a whole has no specific foundation, although the epaulets identify Vice-Admiral of the British Navy, circa Trafalgar. The image isn't 100% perfect, but this is by far the best he's looked to date.
