There was a point at which I just skipped your comics altogether, to be perfectly honest. :p

EDIT: To address Buster's question, although I've never posted any comics yet, I drew the first two pages 3 years ago, and am now scripting the whole arc in screenplay format. The goal is to achieve feature movie length (~100 pages), then when I come back from Melbourne and I have my drawing implements, do it all. Bit by bit.

...I STILL, as an outside reader, would love to see someone (Thorvald) to take a completed DYOS (Thorvald) and take a run at editing it into a lean, sleek work of comic storytelling wonder (Thorvald)...
*Slyly raises his hand* I kind of aspire to do that...

Well, Joan, can you provide any advice for Stylesrj to improve upon so you don't skip his comics? :p

1. Coherence
2. Cohesion

So I've rebooted my character arc in my usual fashion. Forget all character arcs and where everyone was last time. It doesn't matter and no one was paying attention to them anyway.

With that in mind... umm what are we doing exactly? I just threw Tabitha on an adventure and I have no idea what it ultimately is now? Are we still after the Faceless Man or has something changed (because I don't think any of us were really into the pursuit of that guy)?

Should we just go with DYOS XIII "The Search for Some Idea" and say that the Internet got restored in the end. Was that even a plot?

Bah! I dunno now. If we don't know, I'll just make up something as to how Tabitha's contributions tie into the overall plot. But I'm hoping to have a coherent and cohesive story with character development and everything and 99% less expanding boobs and vore.

you should plan in advance. I mean it's fine and all right to just post random stuff, but if you plan ahead then you have an idea about where you're going even if someone else's contribution tears your original plan to shreds.

I'm basically putting myself back out there and seeing if anyone else wants to have me drop into their plot :D

Because right now I haven't actually got anything big planned. I just need an idea on what plot we're following overall.

Basically keep on searching for who's behind the draconian lockdown of the Internet. But Don't go too overboard since Thorvy and I have BIG plans.

Right now, if you follow my story, is that I'm still searching for the translations behind the manual I found on the Andromeda site. While trying to keep Morrigan tame and at bay.

As for the faceless man, I'd put him on the level as the Hacker wannabe who's nothing but a charlatan.

Hey guys, would you be adverse to an experimental comic style that was mostly text based with supplemental pictures? My next comic will likely test that out. I just feel like I do better writing than comicing :dunno:
*BLEHMEHEH*

Though he advised against it since there's still some potential...
If ya want me ta post th' teaser, just say so! :mischief:

How much do you guys kick around plot developments in advance?
Kinda depends on the contributor. I'm (in)famous for concocting long-arcs (Part II is my baby), but it's more setting the main milestones and then ad-libbing the in-between. Up until the latter half of DYOS X you'd be lucky if consecutive comics were even cursorily related; today the general theme seems to be 'railroad the short arcs, meander the long road'.

If'n yer willin' ta pay!

lol/jk Once 10.5 is finally done I should have a lot more time/energy/&c. for such experiments. :p

Tangentially related musical arrangement that used to background one of my fav ArmA machinimas until lolcopyright so fingers crossed KaiserElectric's message gets picked up and the author rehosts as an external download because I can't figure out how he recut it and it was awesome

Pay? PAY?

I offer you guys gold -as golden as a roundtable-produced story is likely to get-

-even though nobody's looked and you want PAY?

*Slyly raises his hand* I kind of aspire to do that...
You're hired. His chainmail is probably fake anyway.

Seriously though - as Johanna (Buster is my niece) suggests, having an idea of where it's maybe gonna end up is a lot of help as you wing your way through...

Another way would be to set a cap on thread length -- if everyone knows the story must end after, say, page 15, then the story beats could adjust accordingly.

Ok, so now I have an idea on what Tabitha's adventure will be.

She leaves her old world and then discovers "Hey I can't use the Internet out here! What gives? I wonder who's behind this!" and then... umm stuff happens that forces her to become a detective?
Maybe a minor villain steals her cat and during this chase she bumps into someone else?

I could say "PM me with a crossover idea" or whatever but well... everyone's here.

She discovers an offline way of getting information that is more powerful than the Internet, and guarantees same-day shipping.

The Faceless Man is looking to bag himself some pussy... so he steals Tabitha's cat.

Good to see you back again, Styles.

Eventually I get bored of the RPGs, League Of Legends and Cookie Clickers and stuff and decide to return.

Some news, after a couple of years of being placed in storage. My Archives have been unstored.

I've had this on the back bench for quite a while now, but planned to announce it alongside a similar hand-drawn series that who knows when I'll be able to do. Like it says on the proverbial tin: suggest DYOS-related topics, and Dolfy will review them with his trademark tact and polity.

Originally this was going to be mostly Pros and Cons, with Speer/Hitler for when I had something worthwhile to say, but I figured why limit myself? As such, you can suggest anything from an individual comic to an entire storyline. You can request a particular format if you like, but at the end of the day I'm going with the funniest presentation.

These will be released in batches, partly for organization's sake and partly in case I get inspired for 'behind-the-scenes' transitional sketches.

So... who's our first victim? :cooool:
