That seems a bit strange, I noticed a significant difference when I got my new computer a few months ago compared to how it ran on the old one.
I'm very excited for this game - I didn't pre-order it because usually I'm not one of those people who needs to have it on the first day, but I might regret that! Although I have some things I really need to get done this week, so maybe I can use that as motivation and treat myself to a reward on the weekend.

Until I restarted. I am on dial up so it slowed my comp down, I could only post messages on CIvFanatics for some reason and it made my typing backwards.
Sorry if the link caused you some problems. When I ran it I had a significant slowdown for a minute or so while it was running (and I have high-speed), so maybe it was just too much for dialup considering you were also doing other things at the same time. Other than slowing the system for a minute, I didn't have any trouble.
It put me just the slightest notch under the recommended specs - about what I expected. I wonder if I should have splurged for a better vid card when I got my system - I wanted to, but it was already costing me more than I wanted to spend.

I've seen sites where there were ratings for Oblivion 2 weeks ago - when there's no chance any of those people had played the game. So I wouldn't put too much in it.
