The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I meant to ask, has anyone else noticed (in the 360 version) in Bravil of homeless people lying dead around the place? I've found two. felt well guilty about not giving them a coin. is this normal. do they just die? or is someone killing them? (not me, I swear)

Some NPCs will steal things... and guards will take care of them. They don't get a "Go to jail" option like the player. ;)

@ Chukchi Husky:

Maybe you can push your XBox to the extreme... keep it running through day and night! Then you don't need to save.

I read that that Xbox 360 has overheating problems if left on too long.

I've noticed that after some serious gaming (ie. over ten hours continuous, yes yes, I am a geek) then Oblivion becomes kinda..... jumpy in bits. the load times go up somewhat and it's generally jumpy at certain bits. that could be the same issue we're talking about here.

and the whole small fan blowing onto it is the setup I've got with my PC at the moment. tower open with a fan blowing air into it, for some reason my internal fan just can't cut it atm

That happens to me, and eventually it crashes.

I suggested that because I'm doing that for my PC too. :D HK is very humid and hot in summer. Frequent cleaning also helps a lot.

When Oblivion is getting jumpy, quit and restart. The OS is able to release resources eaten up by the game's not so perfect code.

you tried offering some chocolate to it.

I swear, my PC was being really sluggish once and I put a chocolate bar on top of it as an offering for it to behave and it worked fine. I'm deadly serious.

.....then I got hungry..... and ate the chocolate...... and it broke :(

I guess the moral of the story is believe your parents when they say eating chocolate is bad for you

I'm having a most amusing time joining the guilds. I'm getting recommendations from all the mages guilds by performing certain tasks - I'm just dreading the day one of them demands I display my own magical prowess

And I joined the Thieves Guild by literally stumbling into their initiation group and improvising my way in.

"Ah, you're here to join the Thieves guild?"
"Actually I was on my way...I mean, yes. I'll join your...which guild was it again?"

heh, when I got the letter about the Thieves Guild I almost forgot about it, and I was dungeon hunting near Anvil and thought "AWW MAN, I've only got 2 hours to get to the Imperial City!!!" :\

The Mages guild is ok, I'm dreading the magical display as well.
Lets see what you can do?
aww er.... you got any easy locks lying about? or maybe some rats that need flaming?

You get a letter?

Like I said, I literally stumbled upon them.

Sadly, in Oblivion the guilds don't require skill/stat level to advance in rank.

The tasks in Thieves guild do require you to be stealthy, yes... but you can be at 10 for all magic skills and still be the Archmage.

There're mods out there to fix this one.

Tried playing again, and had an early death. When we got to the dead end where the emperor dies, one of the guards stay in the room, so the Mystic Dawn people came into the room and attacked me. I had a little bit of health left and then the emperor gives me the amulet, killed then I'm killed by the assassin.

More adventures of Kan in the mountains!

I've decided that one of the big reasons I'm so addicted to this game is that it loads up in less than a minute. Battlefield 2 takes a good five minutes to load up and find a server, and I was really addicted to that.

And there's no horses in BF2! ;)

I was over-encumbered, so I put the swords on this pretty table.

You wouldn't believe it by looking outside, but it's actually daytime. Dense fog and a severe thunderstorm. It got better throughout the day, though)

An artist.

Does this make me a Ghostbuster? (for those who don't know, "Ghostbusters" was a movie back in the 80s)

TRAINING DAY!!!

My house after I swiped some stuff from a nearby abandoned house.

I bought 2 silver mugs and put them next to the fireplace, with my books stacked up on the other side.

BTW, I tried playing in 1024x768 mode, but the screen is too jumpy. Guess I'll have to go to the next Computer Show and get a new video card and memory. ;) (I may wait a year... little bit too early for an upgrade.)

*jaw drops*

Pictures DO look better on a better gfx ard! I am buying Oblivion today!

Er, if i have enoguh money. Darn it, I don't. I'll have to wait a week.

That's odd. Good thing for the mods!
