The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Getting way off topic here but which manufacturer and what model. It has to be a very weird P4 system if 512MB is max. Maybe SDR instead of DDR?

Well the person you asked from has lied to you. From the Packard Bell site I found the specs for your motherboard => "Supports a maximum memory size of 1GB (using 2 × 512 MB memory modules)"

Okay.. I'll trust you and quit here before someone threatens me with a banana for attempted threadjacking...;)

I checked the site again. It was a few years ago when I found out about it. Now it says it supports up to 1 GB of memory (and a lot more things).

I started a Khajiit mage some days ago... I never knew the power of touch spells in my previous two characters. Touch spells are easy to aim, and are much more magicka-friendly.

The arena has never been so easy!

Spells usable only within melee range. They cost you less magicka to cast, thus you can put more power in them when creating spells. Also the problem of your target side-stepping your spells is almost elminated.

For some reason when I first heard of touch spells I thought they were spells you cast on yourself and have to walk into something for it to work.

So far I use mostly target spells for attacks... should create some touch spells too. :)

I haven't played Oblivion much lately... Currently doing that Defense for Bruma main quest.

What, getting guards for bruma? What's the reward for that quest, cause I know it's optional.

The reward of "Defense for Bruma" quest:
Spoiler :
Nothing at all for gathering help from other counts... except for the loot and sigil stones you get on the way. And more meat shields.

For the end of the quest line:
Spoiler :
A statue of you will be erected inside Bruma.
The game determines the look of your statue by looking at your inventory... the game will use the items it considers as "the best"... not the items you're using.

I've read on the official forum that people are trying to do all kinds of tricks:
1) Naked statue. This one fails as the game automatically add some clothes.
2) Desired items. There're debates about when the game took the snapshot, and how it considers an item "good". Two theories are when you first talk to Martin after closing the great gate, or when you grab the great sigil stone.
3) Sick statue. The statue is implemented as a frozen NPC... so if you're poisoned when the snapshot was taken, the statue will eventually die.

Time for some more screenies :)

Martin got hit by arrows... must be friendly fire

I found Conan's Atlantean Sword (added by a mod most likely)... going to add some nice enchantment to it soon. Any suggestions which effects to add? :)

Right, I am so, so tempted to buy this game right now. I don't need it, but I like what I'm hearing and seeing.

Just give me five good reasons why this game should be in my collection, and I will have it within the next 48 hours.

I think "Whodunit" is more evil than hunting the Draconis. A lot more funny too. ;)

Five good reasons for Kan'Sharuminar:
1) IMO it is the best game currently available that provides you a sandbox to play in whatever way you wanted. Plus there're already tons of contents online, 99.9% are free.
2) You can use the game as an excuse to build/buy a new computer.
3) So you can post screenies here. ;)
4) You know you want it. :D
5) Your money isn't really yours until you spend it. So spend the bucks to buy it and be a happy gamer. :crazyeye:

The kill all inhabitants quest? Yeah, that one is very evil too.

I think the earlier Brotherhood quests are the best, since you get nice items as rewards.

That item sounds boring. *ducks*

You know, I'd love to see an RPG game where you character can rule a town or kingdom (tell the NPCs what to do) and be as benevolent or malevolent as you want. Want to complete a quest that's dangerous to get to? Just build up an army and bring the quest to you! Or, even do things like open a weapon shop or something - maybe start out as a poor peasant with nothing but maybe a few items to "strike it rich" from; Kind of like that guy who traded a paper clip for a house. (This is what I liked Dragon Warrior/Quest 4 and 7. It had those things to some degree) I wonder if that could be modded that in... with maybe a new character or something.

EDIT: This sounds a little buggy if you ask me. Anyone ever see that happen? I'd really hate to save up enough money to buy an item from a shop, only to have that shopkeeper killed off.

Can that (NPCs being killed off), in any way, mess up the main quest? (i.e., you might get a message that says, "Character X has been killed! You can not complete the main quest. Game over." like it did in Morrowind)

Cute, very cute.

Some fairly good reasons. I'm going into town today to purchase a book, a new drawing pad and...a game ;)

Haven't decided on Oblivion yet, though.

That would be my dream too.
