Personally, I never use horses - hard to steer (no pun intended). Luckily, my Khajit is very fast right now. (Agility/Speed's in the 70s now)

Thats preaty cool you can name your horse.

I have yet to get a horse but I did get the unicorn for a little while. We galloped and trotted to and fro. We discovered many new areas on the map. Then one day we were up in the mountains and it tripped one to many times and it died. If you see the uni dont let it see you with a weapon drawn it'll attack. And if it dies take the horn!

Chieftes my Nord warrior/mage has agility and speed in the 40s It takes me forever to walk anywhere. It doesn't help I do it in sneak mode either.

The horse in the first pic looks like a statute.

Kan, why is it always raining in your game? :crazyeye:

I really need to get this game finally. Mods have fixed everything I had problems with in my short bit of play. Well, except that from what I here there's not many quests.

I found the unicorn too. Unfortunately, it was standing next to a huge bear that I was attacking... (with my weapon drawn) I was running around a rock when I saw it just as I was attacking. It stepped in between me and the bear - didn't stand a chance.

I do that, too, just to get my sneak ability up. Once, I snuck all the way from Skingrad to the Imperial City. :) Granted, I always have caps lock on so my character can run. Fast Travel (map screen) also helps, but I don't think it increases your agility/speed over time.

That was my first thought, too.

It looks like Chieftess crashed the forum with the heptaposts (7)

How the heck do you name your hourse? Although as yet I have not bought one, I am using Shadowsomething, er, except I cannot find where he is stabled, a stolen horse has been following me...

You can name your horse (actually, any NPC) with the console.

IIRC it is SetActorFullName. Look it up in UESP.

Is there any way to delete spells you know? My list of spells is piling up with old spells i never use anymore. Is there any way i can "forget" these so i dont have to spend time scroling through the spells to find the one i need?

No and it sucks big time.

I've found out that there actually is a way of removing spells from your spell list. Maybe someone has commented this sinse i posted this question but in case not, heres how you do it:

You open oblivion and load a save game. Then you open the consoll by pressing the key that is located above your 'tab' key.
Then you enter: player.removespell [spell code]

HERE is a list of spells and their spell code.

So an example of removing the spell 'captivate' from your list, is entering:
player.removespell 0001C4AD

And voila. A nice way of getting rid of old and useless spells from your spell list.

(heheeey! post 500!)

That's for known spells only.

For spells you created yourself, a lot more work (and hacking) is involved to find out its ID.

Just shows her most noble nature.

I don't know

Edit @Prince Scamp: Following up on what kcwong said, you also have to selct the horse when in console mode before giving the horse a name with SetActorFullName

cause he's Emo :p

I think I've got an issue with my character, from reading this thread I think I made a mistake when I made my character a Thief/Knight :(

Of course you didn't. Once you get your 'sneak' level to 50 (journeyman), your boots don't matter anymore, and of course your armour doesn't matter to begin with. A thief-knight can launch a sneak attack, then take on the hordes of friends of the dood you just sniped or backstabbed.

There is no wrong way to play a thief. Erm. To play Oblivion, I mean. ;)

Oh my gosh, what is THAT?

We fleed north to get away from it, but it seemed to follow us across the sky. I assume it's some sort of fire-based creature, as pretty soon the rain came and it dissapeared.

I'm lucky I guess... I seem to get all of the weather variations - even chaning from minute to minute. (like, watching the sky cloud up, rain, then clear up again to show a starry night).

Kan, er, that's my screenshot.*

I have been trying to get the Elven Cartography mod to work, it isn't, it's supposed to add colour to the map but nothing changes... I need to look into that.

EDIT: I've got a feeling that Oblivion did not do a complete install, the sound folder does not contain ANY Oblivion sounds, only those from a mod... I think that might be the problem?

*Well, it can't be his, it's not raining!

I finally remembered what the lack of the "steering thingies" on horses reminds me of! Monthy Python & The Holy Grail, where knights are running around pretending to be riding a horse and their squiers are running after them making "sound effects" with coco-nuts!

I just tried playing Oblivion with max graphics settings.

Lasted 2 minutes until it promptly froze up and crashed.
