Now Fang Zi-An, accepting the offer from Han Sui to lead a caravan to Shang Dang, also accepted the membership of Li Hao Shi and He Zong into the caravan, as they wished to gain the sponsorship of faction leaders for the He Zong Academy. They set out, hoping to avoid Li Jue to the north.
More Xiongnu were slain by the cavalry defending Wu Wei. These Xiongnu were better armed then the former ones.
It was King Yi's great desire that Emperor Xian be brought to the safety of Wu Wei, there to rebuild his court. Emperor Xian was willing, so Shao Yu and his men proceeded to escort the Emperor west. Shao Yu took this opportunity to become friendly with his men, and they grew to respect him. Better still, Emperor Xian was touched by his humble attitude, and bestowed on him the title of 'General who Subdues the East'.
Liangzhou then was pleased to welcome a dignitary from the south, one Liu Zhang, who happened to be a deadly foe of Zhang Lu. This common hatred caused him to look with favor upon King Yi.
Seeing the Rice Taoist forces moving through the borders, Ma Teng grabbed his blade, mustered his troops, and felled a core of the attackers. He proceeded to again attack the fleeing troops and......lost. (Caragus: 99%

He escaped, and Pang De was quick to avenge him.
Ma Dai joined the assault, further routing the Rice Taoists.
Meanwhile, the Fang Zi-An expedition barely escaped being eaten by a ballista.That ballista would continue to follow them, making the journey annoying.
Lobsang built a temple in Han Sui's capital, and it is said that Han Sui himself worships there.
Ma Dai, rejoicing over his victory over the Rice Taoists, used his experience to develope the art of logistics.
Then he and Pang De proceeded to finish off the tattered wreck of Zhang Lu's army.
A group of light cavalry was ambushed and slain by Li Jue's royal guard. Enraged, Ma Teng formed another legion to 'fix' Li Jue's mistake.
Hearing of Ma Teng's coming, the royal guard arrogantly assaulted his cavalry. The battle was quick, and in Ma Teng's case, bloodless.
In Chang An, Nigh Ture, one of the commanders, followed Shao Yu's example, living among the men, and proceeding with a humble attitude. This impressed the farmers and serfs among his army greatly, but alienated the soldiers from the higher classes.
Meanwhile, the Fang Zi-An expedition reached the borders of the Heishan Bandits. They weren't far from Shang Dang now.
Strizu Hao, seeking to improve the Chinese's knowledge of the world, agreed to aid Zhao Da in his measurements. He has set out towards the eastern sea.
Emperor Xian safely arrived in Wu Wei, and settled down there. After he had been there a while, a most despicable thing happened. While the Emperor sat at table with King Yi, a shadowy figure fired a crossbow at King Yi, hitting him in the shoulder. At the moment, King Yi is still in a coma, and it is unknown how he will fare. In the absence of Li Hao Shi and Strizu Hao, Emperor Xian has made Shao Yu regent. The assassin escaped.
