So Happy I Could Die
Okay, finally played the set - sorry for the delay - and I had a bit more action that what I had suspected/planned (which was to tech Carto and build a trade route to Flauros)...
First, the Sheaim deal with the Barbarians to their south. And example to be followed, methinks...
I decide to keep the city. We have far too few of these.
Archery comes in, and I slot Cartography in next:
We get an event! In retrospect, I should've paid the gold to get the Archer, but I picked the population to get the city up and running:
... Our veterans, boltered by newly recruited Swordsmen, take another barb city. We now have a Level 5 Warrior, who I intend to upgrade:
I keep that one aswell. Its spot is not much worse than the questioned sign just west of it.
Now, this is where all those subtle hints are leading, because this fantastic turnset takes a wrong turn, helped eagerly along by Doviello forces:
Remember that level 5 guy I talked about upgrading? Well, I did. And I attacked at around 85% odds while the city was still in revolt...
Meh. Guess who just got XP-foddered?
... At the end of the turnset, the front looks like this (both our Swords are Shock):
Apologies if I messed up the game entirely, but I think we can do this. I slotted in Warfare after Carto, but haven't revolted or opened borders yet (as the Dovi are now between us and Flauros).
