The future of Fall from Heaven

It sounds like this is more of a "soft" end instead of a dead end, which is a silver lining, I think. Condolences to Kael and his team, and I hope that someday you are all able to create something that you're proud of from the effort you've already contributed to this project.

Bad news, the stand alone FfH game is dead. The first post contains some of the details. Today is my day to sulk, tomorrow I start up on something else.

You weren't kidding, you've already released two (!) mods for Civ 5. Impressive!

Now I'm really interested in CiV.
But what CiV really needs is a good fantasy mod!

If it helps, I'm about to start on an alt-history scenario (not fantasy, but still not real history :p), and the RifE team has a fantasy mod planned, though it will not be based on FfH, nor even much like it. :p

ALt-history, is this fictitious leaders of fictitous civs or What if Poland were a super-power?
Planning a fantasy mod? Excellent, the more the merrier. It will be refreshing to step outside of erebus, definitely.

o.O

are the Celts going to be free or DLC?? nevermind :)

Real civs (mostly) but quite far back in the past. 1250 BCE, to be specific.

Yep, that's a mod. Not Firaxis content. :p

1250BCE... why does it (sti)r(l)ing a bell ?

I am sorry to hear this.

If there's desire in you to finish up FfH2 you could fix the OOS's to make it the multiplayer fantasy TBS of choice for a long time to come and spice up the Armageddon as the event descriptions and how the world is actually affected tend to be way off and there needs be a set special armageddon events that become more usual and severe as the AC hits 100 and afterwards, to the point where the sun dies (universal severe health penalty or smth, a change in the world lighting, might not have to last infinitely), seas boil (tiles become unusable), vulcanoes spit our terrific elemental monsters and firestorms, coastal cities submerge, earthquakes destroy all kinds of cities with not enough population, mountains rise and fall, demonic creatures spawn all around. I'd suddenly find Armageddon a lot more intense than first having all my units go berserk and run off and then die off a few turns later in the Apocalypse and just start building a new army. Also, at AC 100 hell terrain should eat away the good nations too.

edit: also the naval AI

That sounds like a great idea for armageddon!

We want FfH3 for civ 5 Kael, hear us! FfH3 can be my reason to buy Civ 5! :)
