I really enjoy playing very big Earth maps (such as the huge Earth map of the RoM Mod) but I have a seroius problem. When the game is in its initial phases the time between the turns is very short but then as the game developes it grows incredibly and it becomes boring to wait this time (changing turn could cost even more than 2 minutes) !. I have got a computer with very good performances: an Intel processor with 2.67 GHz and 8 GB of RAM Memory.
Another problem less important is that when I start Civilization, since the first time, it says to me that I have selected an "unusable voice capture device" and that the "voice capture (is) desabled". I don't kwon if there is connection between the two phenomena.
What should I do?
Thank you very much.

A huge map with many civs will eventually take an insane amount of time between turns, regardless of your CPU and memory. Using a mod likely adds to the processing time. There is nothing you can do about this.

As for your second problem, in the game, go to the options under sound. Select an appropriate device in the voice settings. If you don't use the voice feature, you may as well disable the voice chat option while you are there.

The box in which I should select the appropriate device is empty and I don't kwon how to disable the device...

The slowdown will not be graphics related. It is almost strictly CPU based AI calculations causing the slowdown in large map games.
