She was also very upset about some things in the Oppression Olympics thread (sorry, no time to hunt up the link, would appreciate if someone could please do that as I have to leave soon).

She's still posting in Civ VI but has said she's done with OT. Being bullied and dogpiled will do that to some people, and not give them warm and fuzzy sentiments toward those who dismiss the fact that this happened.

Almost all the time. There are a couple people I would rather fell off the planet who's company I don't have any appreciation for, but otherwise I'm always having a good time here.

I lurked for a long time, in part to try to get a feel for the level of aggresiveness (but also chumminess). So I think I had my level about properly calibrated from the start of my posting. Even so, I've made some fine-tuning adjustments as I've gone along.

No, but a little less aggression in that thread wouldn't have gone amiss. I don't think anyone should be treated the way Mary was. There are times when people attack the messenger rather than the message.

There was nothing remarkable about that thread at all*. We've had countless other examples over the past few years with pretty much the same things being said, and in the same way, by largely the same people. The only thing remarkable about it is the reaction to it, so it's not unreasonable for rah to say what he said.

*again, excepting the OP itself and the initial discussion, which was just weird.
