You know, after they made the movies, it was suddenly far easier to introduce myself in English. :p

As per your request:

---

JosefStalinator - one of our I.V. imitators. Is generally quite autocratic, a shame not all that many other NESers are (reformist anachronistic weaklings ;) ). Is 1/4th human, likes (in NESes) Franco's Spain, Austria-Hungary, Britain, Ireland and USA, and other European/Latin American countries as well, maybe to a lesser extent. Aside from that is obsessed with Trogdor, Emperor Norton and Amon Savag and reads the Onion. No final opinion about his abilities, but I don't recall him modding a NES.

emu - an Englishman imbued with the spirit of contradiction and the ghost of reaction (or at least conservatism, but reaction is much more fun). As such, has some unusual opinions, which is good because most of the usual ones in the internet don't seem to be very bright. Likes some vague RPGs I never heard of. In NESes, is generally a good, ruthless player, often playing something Anglo-Saxon-ny.

Erik Mesoy - liberal Christian Norwegian technocrat (or at least that's my impression), very arrogant but has a lot to be very arrogant about. Debated with him about morality. Likes Fantasy and Science Fiction, and in fact doesn't seem to be playing any other NESes to the best of my knowledge, also has modded and played some board NESes. Unleashed one of the Internet's most frightening creatures upon the NESing community on one occasion.

ok das, my last post was under the impression you wouldnt know anything about my style but since I just found out your the ottoman empire in the nes i'm currently in i'd find it interesting to see what impression i'm giving off

You have a weird flag. That is all. :p

What about me, das?

Capulet - is too lazy to go back several pages and find my impressions of people from A to D. :p

I have the greatest flag known to mankind :p

if you dont count the fine nation of Grandmas Sword

Alphabetically:
Spoiler :
#1 Person - a Philippinean who plays Philippines very often.

alex994 - Chinese fanatic OOC, by contrast strangely flexible and reformist IC, especially in his orders (much moreso than his OOC opponents). Is indeed quite flexible in nation choice as well, i.e. he doesn't always play China. Somehow acquired a reputation of a peacemongerer despite frequently getting into big wars one way or another. Has a pathalogical hatred of double-posts. One of the Star Wars fans.

Amon Savag - evil personified and stereotyped, very funny too. A shame he's gone right now. Incidentally, a NESing legend, particularily worshipped by JosefStalinator and alex994.

AnarchyRulz - ruthlessness personified, quite similar to Stormbringer actually but disappeared long ago.

andis-1 - one of the Finns (indeed, it is strange just how many Finns we have here - reminds me of a forum I used to frequent that was stuffed with Swedes and Canadians - must be something about the far north...). One of our better warmongerers here (both tactically and strategically).

Azale - football fan, has a penchant for various historical and althistorical North American countries, keeps attacking PRC and the French. Good all-around player and mod, though he could've been more realistic.

Azash - one of the Finns. Fantasy NESer. Don't have any definite opinion of him, strangely (though he had been around for a while).

BananaLee - a Malay who plays Malaysia very often (compare with #1 Person). Aside from that, one of the wittiest NESers, and Malays aside often plays Britain or a very Britain-like coastal Chinese nation in fresh starts. One of the comparatively few players that actually send very detailed domestic orders.

Birdjaguar - the lyrical NESer.

Capulet - Pakistani/Muslim American. Used to play a very important part in my NESes (playing, with varying success, numerous great powers and sending extremelly long orders), but since then disappeared, only occasionally reemerging again. Also infamous for helping Sheep out with Carthaginian orders on one occasion in ITNES I.

Cleric - likes futuristic dystopias, socialist revolutions and Metal Gear.

Concona - Dutch player, not a very succesful mod, not much of a final opinion about him.

Contempt - usually plays Mongols or other steppe nomads, but makes exceptions. Sends awfully detailed tactical orders. Is often anachronistic politically (in other words, he tried to turn a BC Mongol Khanate into a democracy). Is supposed to update his NES.

Cuivienen - as a matter of fact not the ONLY female NESer, but only the most active one. Likes fantasy, writes good stories, especially religion ones in NK's NESes.

Dachspmg - Graeco-Roman, though really German. Very persistant. One of the best military commanders we have here. One of the Star Wars fans.

Daftpanzer - great story writer and very good mod despite not having any NES experience when he started his first NES; lots of original ideas.

~Darkening~ - not much of an impression yet. Likes hippies for some reason.

Disenfrancised - one of the best "newcomers". Very witty and very devious, likes Blackadder (possibly in connection with the previous two characteristics), doesn't seem to have any particular prefference as far as countries ago, apart from a penchant for colonialism and at times countries that resemble early USA.

emu - an Englishman imbued with the spirit of contradiction and the ghost of reaction (or at least conservatism, but reaction is much more fun).

Finmaster - yet another Finn. Played in NES2 I, then disappeared into the Finnish army, later returned for ITNES. Generally has a penchant for stalin's NESes, like myself; as far as nations go, mostly takes something Finnish, Scandinavian, Swiss or Dacian, or so I have observed. All-around good NESer, very commited, writes good stories. Notoriously nostalgiac for the good old days.

Insane_Panda - Vietnamese Californian homosexual Francophilic Germanophilic Bonapartist Rooseveltist Imperialist (probably missed a few adjectives, though), and as such is a very colourful character indeed. Likes modern NESes, but plays in other ones as well, often as France, just as often as about anybody else. Very good NESer, especially in the military field (which doesn't prevent me from boasting about defeating him long ago ). Writes good stories (and paints also, or used to paint). Very knowledgeable, has much potential as a mod, hopefully it would be exploited now (and ofcourse when I say "hopefully", I mean "or else!").

Israelite9191 - Jewish American, is very proud of Israel but doesn't speak Hebrew ( ). Generally is proud of his ancestry, especially the Hungarian one. Markedly liberal. Very knowledgeable, often debated with him (in fact, I think of all the NESers he is the one I debated with the most, with the exception of Xen ofcourse). As a NESer likes the various Semitic/African/Amerind nations and fresh starts, don't have any formed opinion of his skill but he seems to be a pretty good fresh start mod and player, not too good at modern NESes but he doesn't like them anyway.

jalapeno_dude - "a small plump dark green Mexican hot pepper". Aside from that, for some reason I have failed to form much of an opinion about him over the years. Does seem to like very original nations, also was one of the readers of my old althist in the Stories forum. Finally started a NES of his own, just when I lost all enthusiasm for fresh starts and overburdenned myself with other NESes anyway.

JosefStalinator - one of our I.V. imitators. Is generally quite autocratic, a shame not all that many other NESers are (reformist anachronistic weaklings ).

Kentharu - a crack-and-cookie-obsessed updatophile ("phile" as in zoophile, ofcourse - everyone is an updatophile in the less obscene meaning of the suffix) with a penchant for comparatively backward nations. Suffers from the Alex Syndrome - i.e. being more practical and flexible (and in this case sane) in the IC than in the OOC. Often gets beaten up regardless due to some naivity, though his stories and his OOC posts seem like they come from two different people.

Lord_Iggy - A proud Canadian penguin (though surprisingly not an awfully evil one). Penguin-related story writer #1. Lost two Ottoman Empires because of vacations, and one simple Turkey because of mistrust. Pretty middling-to-good player, to be honest (though he IS improving), but a truly great mod who really should be updating right now instead of reading this.

North King - one of the better NESers right now (only, he isn't in many NESes), definitely one of the very best story-tellers, althistorians and mods; he would've been a great mod had his NESes been updated more often and lasted longer, as he no doubt knows because practically everybody has been telling this to him since at least stNNES3. Often has/had time problems in the past. Very flexible as far as nation choices go (though still clearly likes India). Likes to prowl the OT.

silver2039 - an insane perverted Indian (sic!) genocidal maniac. We need more people like him, in other words. Aside from that, he's technically one of the best NESers here, objectively-speaking. Some might find his methods disturbing, but I think they're his strongest side. Also he's one of the more flexible people here as far as nations go.

Silver Steak - first joined NES2 III, a friend of Erik Mesoy, apparently; in any case does have similar interests to him. Generally doesn't seem to play modern NESes very often, instead concentrating on fantasy and fresh starts, at both of which he is very good as far as I can tell.

Stormbringer - Russo-American, evidently mostly likes modern NESes. Is fairly flexible in nation choice, but often enough takes Russia. Most of the times is a ruthless powergamer, and is quite good at that. Is well-read, writes good stories, especially but not only about political intrigues. Very good modern mod.

Symphony D. - One of our (ex)military contingent, along with Finmaster. First joined CapNES I. Military-industrialist semitechnocratic imperial expansionist (phew!), American patriot but seems quite flexible in nation choice (though in NESes with USA, he will most probably try to take USA, especially a battered one). Is one of the few Americans here that (as far as I can discern from his debates with Jason) doesn't hate Bush. Likes sending awfully detailed orders, though since his first attempt at moding these got somewhat shorter. Is one of our best comparatively-new NESers. Am looking forward to fighting with him in PandaNES.

tommy_toon - Yet another person about whom I can't remember anything specific. Although he seems to like Latin American countries.

It's Grandma's Strength - see flag thread, last post on p12 for answers.

MalaySIAN.. Ethnically I'm Chinese, culturally pretty much British.
Explains a few things? :D

Right, most likely I've forgotten some, but they can always be added. I've tried to be brutally honest, though I suppose in some cases I just shouldn't say anything ;) If you don't like what I have to say, then I'll just edit it out.

alex994- Seems to play China most of the time, meaning I've had few dealings with him as I don't usually have nations in the Far East... yet.

andis-1- Finnish guy

Azale- Texan I think... something with the Pope. Another one I don't know much.

BananaLee- Has the cutest penguin avatar. Also one of the Far East loyalists.

Captain2 - New in the community. Needs some practice, but has potential.

conehead234- Not too sure, though I seem to recall some of his actions quite annoyed me once. Don't remember what or why, but something his nation did or didn't do ;)

Cuivinen- Female NESser. Joined my nes and then never posted again or sent orders

Cleric- Weird guy. Seems to be of a tye that would function well with Tito and his partisans. Appears more "psychotic" than silver.

das- Amazing knowledge of history. Superb as an ally and deadly as an opponent. My poor Sinhala :(

Disenfrancised- Very skilled and a good writer. Seems like a laidback nice guy.

emu- Tendency to sprout lots of rude comments. Haven't encountered him much in gaming, apart from two nesses. Has an ability to really annoy me :p

Erik Mesoy- Norwegian and thus a nice guy :p

Icmancin- New nesser. Quite good start.

Insane_Panda- Has some weird fetish with France. A good ally in war.

Israelite9191- Definately Israel-phile. Can't remember him playing anything apart from Israel. Killed off his first nes where my poor nation was doing so well.

Jason the King- Old timer. No tolerance whatsoever toward OOC comments. Makes good updates, though I've only really played in one of his nesses as the second I joined didn't even make it to update 1.

Kal'Thzar- A good opponent. Relaxed guy. Has a problem getting his finger out and updating ;)

Kamilian- Polish guy. Runs a huge nes, but haven't seen him playing much.

Kentharu- Seems to have an ability to mess nations up and then leave them. Hard to get a bead on. Also likes to give his opinion on what other nations are doing... at least I seem to recall that happening ;)

Lord_Iggy- Penguin extraordinaire. Second-cutest penguin avatar. Very relaxed person. Felt bad about invading him once.

Luckymoose - Relaxed person with a cool avatar.

MjM- Very aggressive nesser. Has tendency to attack others and then end up losing his nation in the process :p

North King- Old timer. Seems to have problems getting his nesses to take off.

Reno- Resident Forum Anti-Spam Officer

Sheep- Ambitious and used to have a tendency to mess things up. Highlight being killing off all Italian politicians, have the pope take over and then get kicked out of a nes :p Had some initial problems with him due to what I call "rudeness" and a comment from him that he openly abused a flaw in some rules to gain an advantage. Inventive and one who definately shakes things up. Makes some funny typos in his diplomacy ;) Skilled player though.

silver2039- Pure lunatic. Tries very hard to be evil, but he is still only an amateur ;) Constantly sending orders after deadlines.

Stalin006- Germany... world domination... overly ambitious and advanced plans :p

Stormbringer- Dangerous. Tough to negotiate with and seemingly very stubborn. Very unpleasant opponent due to his skills.

Swissempire- Managed to make several people quit his nes and forgot about his nation in my nes  Seems very ambitious. Has some thing with Piedmont and Irishmen.

The Farow- New with lots of potential.

Thlayli- Gone missing again. New, but seemingly very talented.

tossi- hard to say really. Need more diplomacy/wars with his nations to figure him out ;)

Wubba - Newcomer. Part here has been edited out until I remember who I'm thinking off. Does very well with various, odd African nations.

Stupid thing allowing only 15 smilies.

Appears more "psychotic" than silver
until you ask both about religion. ;)

Definately Israeli

Except he's not Israeli but merely Jewish American. :p

Highlight being killing off all Italian politicians, have the pope take over and then get kicked out of a nes

That's one of his more innocent actions, really, you should've seen what he used to pull off in, say, NES2 I with Oceania. ;)

he is still only an amateur

He's definitely one of the evilest NESers ever, though.

or am I confusing him with someone else?

With Krimzon maybe? Wubba is probably one of the least nitpicking NESers today.

Wubba and Swissempire have good potential in my opinion, although Swiss can be arrogant its a funny kinda arrogant because it usually backfires (arrogant people just piss me off most of the time).
I would like Swiss more if he never mentioned ireland ever.

das said:

Bah, only 3 times have I played something Anglo-Saxony, England, Northumbria and Mercia

I seem to associate you with Argentina, and I have some memory of you playing some other Latin American country as well (Brazil? Mexico? Cuba? Don't remember.).

Das and harlequin write about Erez

At least you get the only latin american country I do love, which is Argentina. I know I played it in Sines before, and I played Recife in JNES once, but outside of that I don't think I've played any other latin country except in Neo Nes now.

I consider myself very versatile with my favorite nations though, try not to play in the same region in two Nes' running at the same time.

But I don't really know erez :( And it seems nobody knows me :(

I know he is American... should just have said Israel :p I'll change that bit and then look for that NES you mentioned. Hmm.... Someday I'll need to run my own evil organization... and I'll need frickin' sharks with frickin' laserbeams attached to their heads :p

And, no, not Krimzon. Possibly Kentharu? Hmm..... who was it...
