Throw it away.

Now. :p

I don't know how much harm the mold and black dots do, but get rid of it.

Like,

Nao. :p

EDIT: Found this, dunno how helpful it might actually be, but it's a start. :)

Like said above: Throw it away. ASAP.

Imma attempt to clean it first using heavy duty crap before I toss it (it is a rather nice water bottle :p).

Unless you've already developed an allergy, then normally not.
(if this sounds contradictory to the advice to throw the bottle away: You can get other stuff from molds; most prominently for people who are not already seriously ill: liver cancer)

Maybe I have an allergy to it then? :dunno:

Eye strain can cause headaches. Get an eye test and tell the optician about the headaches. They'll put the eyedrops in that relax the muscles. I had 20/20 in every cursory test and after the drops i was half blind.

I moved my desk under a window, made an effort to look out the window to shift my focal length and got a pair of reading glasses that I hardly ever use. No more evening headaches after whole days reading and on the laptop.

I already wear contacts, and I do make an effort to look out of my window every now and again to look at things in the distance, also the view is really pretty.

And I've already tried going days without wearing contacts to see if that would help, it didn't, so I'm thinking it isn't the cause.

Mold can be nasty crap. Minimize contact. If you are for some reason unreasonably attached to a plastic water bottle, you can dump an 80% water 20% bleach mixture in it and wash the bejeesus out of it. Then rinse the bejeesus out of it. Better be a darned good water bottle tho! :p

It is rather nice... I'll try my best to murder the mold. If that fails it gets tossed.

Hopefully no longer using that water bottle will clear up these headaches. If not, allergy meds. If that fails, doctor.

Thanks guys for the help and ideas!

PS - keep it open and all the way dried out when not actively in use, i.e. - don't leave it on/in your backpack with stuff in it or whatevs. ;) Perpetual wet will just re-mold.

Am I annoying? :)

Gotcha!

More cleaning, drying, and leaving open to prevent re-molding, or molding of my new water bottle.

I should probably keep that in mind...I've been leaving my drinking cup in there for a while.

I've found that not wearing glasses when you do normally, even if they're not strictly necessary for your current task, can make you feel tired or headachey, due to the brain being confused by the lack of the expected visual support.

I would note that if you have a wrong prescription removing your corrective lenses is not that likely to help. If your eyes have changed such that they need a different type of lense then both wearing your current lenses and not wearing naything poses a risk of eyestrain. The most obvious case being if your eyes got worse.

I am not saying this is the issue, there are a multitude of postential causes, but you conclusion is not entirely supported.

Yeah, cleaning looks like a nice option, although if the mold looks like it actually MERGED with the bottle, then throw it away.

That's what happened with the thanksgiving leftovers at my folks place last year (or was it the year before?); the food was left in the containers in the fridge for so god-awfully long that the food AND the mold literally became one with the dishes.

My mom continually makes way too much food every thanksgiving in spite of everyone's objections. :(

Anyways, enjoy your trip to the Porcelain God, guys. :mischief:

They're nice. I don't go to malls much, though, so I rarely eat them.

Meh, not a big fan of novelty prezels.

I hate those roll gold pretzels, in fact, I hate those hard pretzels but I do love the soft pretzels served at baseball and football games. (Only reason I would go to one, tbh!)

A 10 point quiz, which I had achieved a 9 out of, was just dropped to 9 points for technical difficulties grading it. So my grade is boosted by one point :p

Wrong thread, chief.

Oh dear. How did that get here?

You were probably just scanning the forum for long thread titles with roman numerals and a lot of posts without actually reading them.
