The Mole: S&T's First Game Show!

I have never heard of this AIs tech techs you have researched at a faster rate and am more likely to research them...

Here we can see an explanation that the cost of a technology (for either the human player or the AIs) is affected by how many other players (including the human player) that a player knows who also know a tech. So, if we learn a tech, then said tech becomes cheaper for an AI to research for any AI that has met us. If we learn that tech before we can use it, then all that we're accomplishing is speeding-up the AIs' research of the same tech.
Spoiler :
This article will explain the ins and outs of how your beakers get put to work to research the technologies that make or break your game of Civ. To learn more, read on....

Applying the Research to the Technology

The amount of beakers applied to the technology cost is dependant upon the number of civilizations which know the tech and the number of requirements you have fulfilled for the technology.

Calculating the Known Civilizations w/ Tech modifier

1) Multiply 0.30 by the number of KNOWN, LIVING civilizations, who have the tech.

2) Divide by the number of civilizations which STARTED on the map and ROUND DOWN to the hundredth place (0.01) of the quotient.

3) Add 2) to 1

Tech Known by Civilizations modifier = 1 + RDDW (0.30 * # known Civs who have the tech / # of Civs who started the game

Repercussions

1) It can be VERY important to establish contact with all the other civilizations in order to speed your beakers applied count. You could potentially be making 28% (17 known civs w/ tech/ 18 civs total) more beakers than you normally could on a tech. This is especially true on harder difficulties. If you just meet half of the other civs, your research on techs known by the others would improve by 14%. This is probably the biggest repercussion of the calculation.

8) If you have a neighbor who you're thinking of killing off who has techs which you have not researched yet, it might not be worth it to kill them off UNTIL you've researched the tech (1 neighbor who knows the tech in a 7 player game will provide a 1.04 boost).

wait I have a comment. The first post sorta encourages us to act like the mole so people vote for us. However this isn't a game of last man on the island wins. This is a game of civ, were our object is to win the game.

So everyone but the mole should not be acting like the mole...

Its exactly like Mafia, if your not mafia (aka mole) then your object is just to remain alive and find the mole. So by confsuing the others this is counter intuitive. Just food for thought.

Feel free to put your efforts into discussing what you think that the next player should do in their turnset.

It will, of course, be easier to judge whether or not someone is the mole if they follow your suggestions or completely ignore them.

like what I am saying is right now 3 of us have made at least 1 post suggesting that they were the mole.
Mosher, me and Dhoom. This deciet between the good guys makes it a lot harder to find out who the real mole is. I am saying that those who aren't the mole should treat this like a regular succession game and either the Mole will have to help us win, or we will find out who the mole is...

I've been acting like the Mole?

Okay, so I took a look at the saved game.

Here are some suggestions:

Turn 63 (the current turn)
1. Corinth (City 2) should steal the Sheep from Skowhagen (City 1).

2. We should Open Borders with Kublai Khan

3. Our Warrior that is Fortified next to Kublai Khan's lands should Unfortify and start exploring along the Coast to the north, in hopes of opening up Foreign Trade Routes

4. We should NOT Open Borders with Hatshepsut because Kublai Khan hates her. We need to pick an ally and Kublai is the better choice (for now) since we can actually get Trade Routes with him but we can't yet with Hatshepsut

5. I don't care if you Open Borders with the Greeks or not, but we should probably keep Borders Closed with all other AIs besides Kublai Khan and possibly Pericles for now

6. Important: Wake up the Fortified Warrior in our capital and move him towards the north-west. We need him to move out so as to protect the soon-to-be-founded City #3.

Turn 64 (the next turn)
1. Skowhagen (City 1) will complete its Settler for City #3. Start work on a Chariot.

2. Skowhagen (City 1) should switch 1 of the Clams to the Grassland Hills Mine, so that we can complete our first Chariot within 3 turns.

3. Corinth (City 2) should whip the Work Boat for its Fish Resource. Work that Fish once it is netted.

4. Our Workers should build a Road towards where we plan to place City #3.

Turn 65 (two turns from now)
1. Corinth (City 2) should build a Monument next.

Future turns
1. When City #3 is founded, pick a nice name for it. Then, start work on building a Monument.

2. Keep building Chariots in Skowhagen (City 1) to help fending off the Barbarian units, which will probably start harassing us soon. I would make sure that our empire has 3 Chariots before building something else in Skowhagen (City 1). The next build item in Skowhagen (City 1), after we have 3 or more Chariots, should probably be a Granary, but it could also be a Library or a Lighthouse.

3. Note that we DO NOT need to build a Barracks before building Chariots. Chariots can gain experience from Barb Warriors. However, if we spend the time building a Barracks, then we might LOSE City #3 or even our capital. Only the Mole would build a Barracks before building Chariots.

As for where to build City #3, it seems that Olaf gave multiple suggestions. We don't have a lot of great options, so my suggestion is to build one close to the capital, so that we can work the Cow, the Copper, and share either Cottages or Mines with the capital.

That location is NW + NW + N of Skowhagen (City 1). It has a sign that says "City 3?" on top of it. Of course, there are multiple squares that say "City 3?" This particular one is on a Plains square that is just south of a Grassland Jungle square.

EDIT: Regardless of whether I am the Mole, I tried to give useful suggestions here. I am not trying to trick anyone (with this message anyway).

I vote Mayor to be the mole.

So, I guess I'm up, then?

I think there is some stuff to happen first.
