Trade altered. 50% from land, 50% from sea. Naval trade is lost if you are blockaded, air trade lost if all nations around you embargo you and/or a nation imposes an air blockade - which is only doable if they can cover your entire nation with their air force.
In Christos' case, his trade is 100% dependent on air trade. A key advantage of this being that he need only build a strong air force to maintain his trade networks.
As to the threat of trade embargoes - keep in mind that if someone embargoes you, all their clients do as well.

If a state receives two client offers(as can happen, either intentionally or as a result of one side PMing orders) it will randomly decide between them
In other news, the Emperor/King of Italy is very displeased by the current UN resolution and wonders out loud if the UN would even have the backbone to import assbeatings into east Italy if we ignored them and developed anyways.

With the spotlight on Xinjiang's hard handed tactics on dealing with their rioters and protesters, Hanna placed in her two cents into the issue with her Cabinet. "It's clear that the Xinjiangs are getting uppity because they have blood upon their hands after turning their own tanks against their own citizens" Hanna then continued "It seems to me that they rather bully their own citizens and other nations that condemn them for their actions". "Clearly, they are a landlocked nation. Only relying on air traffic to ferry their goods" Surface Marshal Hanz stated. Soon Secretary of State Ron began to elaborate on the Demon Realm's recent Clientization of two South American countries "This deserves are most important attention. As you can see, the Demon Realm have started to court nations down in South America. Personally, I believe this will complicate things once we start trekking down onto that continent". "The Demon Realm?" exclaimed Hanna. The Surface Marshal responded "Yes, the Demon Realm. We don't know what in Oblivion they came from. But they're not from this world". Hanna, looking over their data soon exclaims "We should be cautious, It's quite unexpected of them to vote for a WMD Ban resolution. Especially if they're going the road of neo-colonialism with client states".
Hanna then turns to Ron "And what about the 501st? Any news about them?". Ron simply opened up his report and gave Hanna the rundown "They've mainly been keeping to themselves for the time being". Ron then looks at the Chancellor and asks her what no one in the room has dared to suggest "Hanna, I believe that we should invite Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod for a diplomatic visit as a gesture to grow our relationship between our two nations on this continent". Hanna was taken back at the suggestion "Have them see us?". Tifa interjects with her statement on the issue at hand "Eventually, our borders will touch theirs. It would be wise to consider doing this early than wait till then". Hanna took a deep breath and says to Ron "Alright, send Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod a diplomatic invitation to visit New Port City and foster a friendly relation between our two nations".
The small lunch was concluded and Hanna boarded her Chancellor's Limo, on her way to the Chancellery in New Port City. She recived news that thanks to the growing lands of the Republic, that the industrial sector has started to see a strong boost in activity thanks to the revitalization efforts taking place in the Northeast.
Build however many Agents I can get for 5 Gold(I think that's one?)
Invest 90 Gold in national industry.
Expand further into the Korean peninsula.
RP info:
Current Dictator-for-life: Kim Jung Su
Religion: Taoism, local gods.
In Korea, at least, very little of religious significance survived the Cataclysm save several books explaining the way of the Tao. Though many citizens believe in local gods or spirits as well, the overarching way is that of the Tao.
Social: Authoritarian.
When the Korean peninsula began to rebuild itself after the Cataclysm, it began as several warring states ruled by powerful warlords. This tradition has continued to the present day, as there is little more efficient than a State controlled by one guiding hand. And efficiency is life in the brutal wasteland that is Korea. As the State protects their lives, and usually knows best, it would be seen as absurd to consider a State which does not exercise its natural authority.
Fiscal: Socialism.
Humanity survived through the Cataclysm in Korea by coming together. Groups sharing life through the long dark of the late 21st century, defying the hostile wasteland, strange mutants, and limited resources to kill them. Even now, it is necessary for all to share for the good of all. As such, the average citizen of the UDPRK sees it as nothing more or less than right for all to be equal in survival. Tales of a land where some own many goats while some starve would only anger them.
Foreign Policy: Interventionist.
The State presently known as the UDPRK only came into being due to the warlord Kim-Sil conquering his neighboring warlords and forging a greater State. When the UDPRK looks out at the wasteland surrounding it, it sees only those who suffer from drought, starvation, and radiation poisoning. Thus, it is the mission of the United Democratic People's Republic of Korea to bring the entire wasteland under the flag of survival and salvation. The average citizen sincerely believes it is the UDPRK's mission to raise the wasteland up from its condition, and those who interfere in this goal are little different from the hideous mutants.
Language: Klingon, Korean, Japanese.
Many of those who survived the Cataclysm were those who prepared for it. An overwhelming majority of those people were Trekkies. Klingon is a commonly spoken tongue, its original roots long forgotten. Japanese is another big one, usually spoken by dwellers on the southern coast near Japan. But the official language for State business is Korean, as that is the tongue the Old Files were found to be written in.
Currency: Stone(1 gram of pure Granite).
You would not believe how hard it is to find pure Granite in the new Korea. As it is a rare material, and useful for making a condensation trap to collect water, gram-measurements of Granite have become an item in which everyone sees value. Sometimes the State conducts business with massive amounts of Stone, typically formed into a giant wheel to ease transportation.
Business: The UDPRK condemns Xinjiang for the terrible quality of its military training. Quite frankly, the army should have just stayed home if they're going to lose 20 tanks after killing 50 protestors.
The UDPRK also condemns Xinjiang for firing on the protestor crowd and not following through. You shouldn't have done it if you were going to stop there.
The UDPRK wishes to sign non-aggression pacts with Hawai'i, Xinjiang, Demon Republic, & any other Asian-pacific major powers.

A flashlight shone in an otherwise darkened corridor. As the man steadily advanced down the corridor, something began to follow the light.
Pyongyang Sung cautiously explored the old bunker. This was his third foray into the facility located under the old DMZ, and was his last chance to find what he was looking for.
Pyongyang randomly chose a door to his left and opened the armored steel slab. Inside was a room with a desk, an old chair, and a filing cabinet. Promising. Something on the desk caught his eye, though. Are those...bite marks? They're six inches deep. He felt a temporary flurry of panic before he suppressed it. This was his job, after all.
Pyongyang approached the filing cabinet and attempted to open the top drawer. Locked., he thought.
The Hunter slowly crept up behind the strange two-legged creature, carefully positioning himself to kill the creature with a minimum of fuss.
Pyongyang absently felt a cold wind on the back of his neck. Wind? Air doesn't mo... Pyongyang rolled to the side as two pairs of six-inch fangs sunk into the space where his neck had been before. Without thinking, Pyongyang pulled out his revolver and fired five times. Three of the shots went wide in his panic, but the other two hit the hideous creature in the head.
Pyongyang examined his hideous, mutant adversary. It was clearly once-human, but grey and hairless with a mouth resembling a cobra's & claws on its arms and legs.
Pyongyang breathed a sigh of relief, then turned back to the filing cabinet. To hell with this He thought grimly. He then shot the lock to the cabinet. The door creaked open slowly, revealing a collection of papers marked "Top Secret". Pyongyang rifled through the files, taking three of them. He holstered his revolver, shouldered his pack, and began making his way back to the surface.
The bunker was then silent and dark as before.
Kizzie sorted files. It was pretty much her job, sorting files and answering calls. She was the secretary to the dictator-for-life, and had been for six years. In her time, seven dictators had come and gone. As she sorted files, she found a small piece of paper tucked into the "Agricultural Report of 2150". On the outside of the paper was a symbol in Kanji. Kizzie sighed. Kim Jung Su would not be pleased.
Kim Jung Su held the note in his hand. His worthless woman of a secretary had informed him that a mysterious figure, calling himself "Tassadar", had been leaving little messages for the dictators of the UDPRK. Nobody knew what was in the previous notes. Kim Jung Su briefly considered reading the note, but stopped himself from opening it. Whoever this "Tassadar" is, he can speak to my face or not be heard. He thought grimly. And then I can have him executed. Kim Jung Su threw the note into the fireplace and returned to his luxurious chair.
Battleships arent my specialty, Gregory, she chided. But yes, I would go with my fathers design and not for the reasons you think!
Oh, the loyalty of a daughter towards her father, Gregory smiled. Rachel waved a finger warningly at him.
Be careful, your highness, or I may have to punish you later.
Oh, Id look forward to it, Gregory said, raising an eyebrow. Rachel put a hand over her mouth artfully, adopting a scandalized expression.
Imagine! So improper! she gasped. Then she lowered her hand, grinning broadly. In that case, Ill have to do it anyway.
Oh, indeed, Gregory replied. He stepped over and enveloped Rachel in his arms. She responded instantly, hugging him tightly, popping one foot into the air and kissing him. They remained locked together for several moments.
So. Battleship choice made, Rachel murmured as they broke apart. Isnt that nice?
Gregory chuckled. Lets worry about battleships later. We have another issue. Remember when I was talking about the embargo against Xinjiang?
Yes, Rachel nodded. I think you should go through with it. Teach those . . . monsters a thing or two about us. About what we will and will not stand for.
Nah, Gregory shook his head. Ive had a better idea. Let the traders keep working. By the time Im done with Mr. Christos Xinjiang, hell be begging me to stop.
Oh, I love you when you talk that way, Rachel murmured, a seductive note in your voice. You are very good at making people beg.
Gregory kissed her again.
Claire Adams finished packing her suitcase, then checked her makeup. It was light not too much, but not too little. She nodded to herself, then checked to make sure the essentials were still packed.
Cosmetics, check. Food, check. Drinks, check. Journal, check. Pistol and knife, check. All a girls essentials on a holiday trip.
The ship left for India in the morning. That wasnt Claires real destination, of course, but it would be stage one, at least.
Claires fiance was coming too. He wasnt technically her fiance, but she didnt have a better word to describe the relationship, so she supposed it stuck.
The game was afoot and soon enough, Claire and her fiance would be enjoying an energetic, if not relaxing, honeymoon.
Citing the overthrow of the Nigerian government and suspecting Takrur's involvement, Angola has ordered its fleet to begin the blocking of all goods in and out of its ports. Come update, any navies both sides have will engage in battle. If either side completely destroys the other, the result will be a blockade of the navyless side.
This is not technically an act of war, but a declaration in response to this will not carry any RR penalties, as it is a just war to end such a thing for one's people.
As a note. Blockades must be made public(or else the GM will make them), embargoes do not.
