The NES Wiki - Get Wiki With It

Without a doubt, Symphony is simply heads-over-heels better for the job than Abaddon. No offense, but I'd personally be scared to look at it if I have to wade through tons of pages to get a little info.

 WTH? I have never asked to be the Admin, and don't want to be. A Wiki allows everyone to contribute, I was doing by writing a Guide until Symp decided to delete it.

What I was proposing was so that you don't have to wade through anything you dont need. You type in the search engine, and there is a page for it, also leading you onto the larger Guide.. seems sensible to me.

A redirect to a specific section of the Guide is better than a page with a single sentence or less with a link to the Guide.

I never said that you did- I was responding to this quote by Symphony:

"Fine, Abaddon. You know best. I have no doubt of your ability to create Wikipedia-in-miniature for NESing with all the tens of thousands of pages that would entail as opposed to our current sub-500."

Yes a search engine would be nice- but it would only help those who knew what to look for.

Added, revised, and de-personalized the "Introduction" section of the NESing Guide. Gelion, please don't mind the rather big change to your original wording.

This is my way of calling the NESing community to help make the NESWiki a true wiki. Contribute!

I like it better! Kudos :goodjob:

Do it yourself. Thats the point of a wiki :p

No, the point of a wiki is to read what other people write about you, disagree with basically everything, and then write it all over by yourself. :p

Retroactive deletion.

Well to satisfy your ego, and hopefully make a small warmth grow inside you.. i've noted your existance....

I think it would be useful to have rulesets on wiki...

Retroactive deletion.

Why are you so intent on condensing this wiki?

I disagree entrely with the point of the wiki.

It is to create a searchable database for ANYTHING related to NESing.

Of course regarding rulesets, one would link back to the development thread for any comments/evolutions of

Are you going to delete anything I add again?

Retroactive deletion.

Why would you assume everyone I want to add would be placed on one page? :???:

Retroactive deletion.

Symphony, it's interesting how badly you want not to work on stuff like this, especially since you created the OP. :p As soon as somebody in here attempts to do something not directly related to NESing, you drop in and block it a bit.

Also, the Search function in CFC is terrible. A Wiki page for itself would be better as reference. And its fun to do for those who does it. Spending time, you know. The very same reason we are NESing.

Retroactive deletion.

I don't see why you have to delete things you don't deem necessary?

Wiki will store as much info as we add.

I'm not going to touch anything you have done, why do you have to worry about what I add.

Finally, why can't a wiki page be complete? The point of being able to edit is so that if anyone has something extra to add they can.

I doubt there is much editing of wiki's "gravity" page for example! ;)
