The NES Wiki - Get Wiki With It

Jal: quite so, though it should be a subcategory under NES, methinks (Category:NES > Category:NESes) with the list itself under Category:NES.
Right, that's what I intended.

I think we should make people type out what things they changed. I don't like being left in the dark and it makes my job easier anyways. Anything is fine. Even a simple "added name" is fine, really.

Yes, it will show who did what, but sometimes it won't show what they edited, which is, to me, annoying. I'd rather have people do what Symphony D. does, which is to put what he does in the summary thing so I know exactly what he's up to.

Sorry, but for some of us this is an impossibility. While lately I have not ben as active as I would like to be (and kind of was on the old wiki) when I do work I try do as much work as possible in the limited time I have. This means I do not have the time, or the memory, to constantly report all of my edits here. If someone like Symphony is capable, G-d bless, but it is absolutely ridiculous to expect everyone to do the same. If you do, people are likely to become fed up with the whole thing and simply stop editing. In essence, it is a waste of time, a hassle, and a deterent.

No, it shows a comparison of the two pages if you so choose, so you know exactly what changed. Just go to this history.

Symphony D.: Hey, man, you know, just trying to spread the love and stuff, yeah? :D

But, although I don't know what SOL means, I suppose I shall have to change it now - -

Yes, I know that, but..well...Symphony D. already pretty such explained what I meant, so there.

@Israelite9191: Yes, what Symphony said :O! If you even look at my own edits, it's always things like "grammar things" or "alphabetized" or "organized format better" and such. Just little things like that, ya know? :p

We expended far too much effort on this just to forget about it. This needs to be jumpstarted.

Can someone post the updated NES Directory on the wiki? Then we can start making individual NES pages...

I would, but I'm just a Minor Editor! Hurr hurr!

No, actually, I would, and stuff, but I have to jet soon, so...>_>

We still need to decide on a unified naming system in order to do that. I don't have a problem with the earlier suggestion of reformatting all names to the "SERIAL - NAME" format since it is arguably the most common. Since nobody has raised any substantial objections to this I think we should just run with it.

I agree, seems sensible.

Someone better than I am at Wiki and html needs to figure out how to post the tables. I've succeeded in replicating them (by copying and pasting source code), but the resulting table doesn't seem to allow either wiki-style formatting or links.

I'll resume contributing when my schedule becomes sane again (IE: Once LINESII updates again)

That's not the most common naming type. Furthermore, might as well leave it to the creators; just copy it from how the mod posted their thread. Uniformity yields to accuracy.

In fact, the naming type you mentioned is only the "most common" if das' NESes count for about five of everyone else's, surveying the front page.
