The new Q&A confirmed 4U for each civ

That's my point, it can very well be one and the same UA, but the rush part doesnt ONLY work in those eras, but on those wonders, and everything else is unaffected by era.

Makes sense to me as well. So all game your builders have that extra charge but you can't rush wonders with them all game. That would be immensely OP as a game long bonus.

OK, I've just watched the Q&A.
It's not that well explained, but the way I understood it the home continent combat bonus and the Rough Rider are both Teddy Roosevelt's bonus just like the extra worker charge and the ability to rush wonders belong to Qin.

So, what's still missing are China's UA and UU (and if it's the Zhugenu please don't use that silly outdated Wade-Giles transcription) and America's UU.

America's UU is the P-51 Mustang. What we are missing is America's UA.

Ah, yes. That was a typo.

We do more or less know that China has the Great Wall improvement as one of their uniques - right?

It was stated by Quill18 in his video a few weeks ago.

You are correct.

Here is how I understand it.

Each civ gets 4 bonuses:
- 1 civ level bonus that applies to the whole game
- 1 leader bonus that is era specific (this bonus can be a UU + UA but era specific)
- 1 unique unit
- 1 unique infrastructure (building, tile improvement or district)

So America's bonuses are:
- 1 civ level bonus: unknown
- 1 leader bonus: rough rider unit and combat bonus on same continent during an era.
- 1 unique unit: P51 mustang
- 1 unique infrastructure: film studio building

The confusion comes from the fact that the leader bonus can be a combo UU and UA together. So America does get 2 UUs, it's just that one of them is a civ bonus while the other one is a leader bonus.

I am really looking forward to seeing these unique bonuses in action. It sounds like civs in civ6 will be much more interesting to play since there will be more unique units/buildings and unique abilities for each of them. Not just they get a UU AND a UB but also an era specific bonus and bonus for the whole game. This should allow for each civ to really have different play styles depending on what era in the game you are currently in.

This was one of my fears, that civs wouldn't be unique enough, like CivBE's sponsors. But everything we know so far is sounding amazing! Teddy's UA alone is more interesting than Civ5's America UA.

America's Ability is NOT revealed yet. Roosevelts leader ability is the combat bonus + rough rider unit. His ability is two parts.

This is false. Ed specifically outlined All of america's bonuses when trying to explain the way the civ bonuses work; He separated the continental combat bonus from the rough riders.

I think they way people should start looking at it is this; Each civ gets

Unique Ability
Unique Infrastructure
Unique Unit
Unique Leader trait

Which reminds me, I've always dreamt of having the option to create our own Civs by choosing between the different UU/UI/UA/UB available.

-Choose icon (even upload your own, a man can dream)
-Choose colours
-Choose leader
-Choose UA
-Choose 2 UU
-Choose 1 UB or UI
-Name your civ and save it.

Hell, I'm so excited about this feature I'm going to create a request for our mighty modding community.
That would be awesome :goodjob:

Wrong. Here is a direct quote from Ed B from the Facebook Q&A:

"People know that there is a bonus with fighting on the American continent. That is the second part of Teddy's era bonus. So you can have 2 unique units but one will be tied to the leader's era."

He says that the bonus to fighting on the same continent is the second part of Teddy's era bonus, the first part being the rough rider. So I think it is clear that both the rough rider and the combat bonus are part of the leader bonus, not the civ unique ability.

It seems likely the leader unique and the leader agenda will have to be tied together otherwise the whole civilization will be inflexible with a different leader. I'd recommend listing agendas and leader abilities together.

That doesn't make any sense, having a combat bonus on your continent isn't something that lasts for a specific era. Unless the bonus is something like "combat bonus on same continent during industrial era" which seems like a pretty obscure bonus.

Agreed. I think the best way to describe America would the following way to be clear:

Civ: America
Civ ability: unknown
Unique Unit: P51 Mustang
Unique Infrastructure: Film Studio building

Leader: Teddy Roosevelt
Leader ability: Rough Rider unit + combat bonus on same continent
Leader Agenda: Big Stick (dislikes warmongers on his continent) + 1 random agenda

It seems likely the leader unique and the leader agenda will have to be tied together otherwise the whole civilization will be inflexible with a different leader. I'd recommend listing agendas and leader abilities together.

Teddy's and Qin's are linked but that is a small sample size to state leader uniques and leader agenda are linked.

But I am suddenly terrified of Monty and Attila if they make it in.
