The "OMG! Look what happened!" Thread

Well hey, I'll give you credit where it's due, you at least recognize that it would be Dutch-speaking.
Also, Verenigde Staaten was a nice touch.

And Old Hickory's all fine, but wait until you are dispatched at the hands of Vintage Mahogany!

Which actually sounds like a guitar finish.

At first I thought, those are Mongols. But then I looked at the year and was like OMG. They even declared war on Japan and wanted me to help them.

I love that the clams outside Byzantium refuse to flip.

at one point the fish, clams and sheep were Turkish  even though byzantium was full of wonders and had more influence on those squares :mad: it wasn't fair:cry:

Huh. That's pretty odd. Impressive Rome, by the way.

EDIT: More screenshots.

Game 1:

arabnorthafrica.png

The first time I've actually seen the Arabs properly fill out North Africa.

Game 2:

capodeboaesperanca.png

This makes perfect sense historically, but I've never seen it in-game. The name translates to "Cape of Good Hope", IIRC.

chinesecongo.png

The glorious colony of Chinese Congo.

chineseuzbekistan.png

Once again: makes sense, never seems to happen.

emptyindia.png

Looks like India got hit by the barb-stick. Also, Kampuchea is Taoist.

japanesedubai.png

Japan took this city and capitulated Persia. They're awful colonial in this save.

megafrance.png

Proof that we're in a bizarre, alternate universe: France has invaded Germany and Italy, and has yet to surrender to any one.

normanitaly.png

Looks like the "great Norman adventure" in Italy never ended after all.

scoreboard1.png

For your interest, the scoreboard.

Wait a second, if you're playing RFC: DOC, then why is Catholicism's holy city Wien? Did the Apostolic Palace get removed from Rome?

Exactly. Looks like the Germans built the AP in 3000 BC there.

Great to see so many historically accurate (if anachronistic) occurences. I especially like Norman Sicily and the restoration of Tang Samarqand (the city needs a Chinese name btw).

Silly Muslim, bacon is for Christians!

That reminds me of Jewish Egypt (I think it was mentioned somewhere in this thread)

Frederick the Great would approve :D

I've never seen Rome keeping their cities from the French (which they can't if they're not played by a human), but I've seen them retake them sometimes too.

The weirdest thing I've seen so far was a Roman Mexico, sadly I have no screenshots.
