The "OMG! Look what happened!" Thread

Independent conquerors are messed up though.... they don't attack at all. Also they seem to appear when you make the Mayans collapse as Aztecs? At least in my game they appeared when Chicken Pizza became independent, they had no mounted units and as I said didnt move a single tile.

If we have Chicken Pizza we need Coke

I've never been much of a war-for-war's sake's person. When I got the Greed event to control Germany's only iron (since Frankfurt was razed and France or Netherlands now controls it), I just thought nah. Went on my usual merry wondermongering and built the Univ of Sankore.
Guess what, since Kiev was able to build the Forbidden Palace (Mali traded me Divine Right) AND Spiral Minaret, I was able to get to the horse southwest of it. When Turkey captured Constantinople, I knew I had to do something because of the Turkish UP, so I built Constanta 2NW of it and capture Istanbul (with Sistine Chapel no less!). Little did I know that with the combined cultured of Kiev and this little city, I was able to grab the iron. I got 12 knights in my fight against the infidel Turks and call myself the true Tsar! :king: I never even "attacked" the Germans. :)

I'm trying for the fastest triumphal arch (hoping for mid 1800's). I should be first to liberalism if nothing untowardly happens.

once as a squatter, i moved the aztec up to the border of the great plains to get those resources and secured all of mexico. i had one city border the great plains, and another cleverly placed just west of lousiana - to "block" anyone else from it. then i met the french in north america with galleys (no conquerors for you, sir.)

when america spawned it became my vassal, i allowed it to have the great plains and we conquered the world together. america went on a spree of england/spanish razing which collapsed europe - then i did the same to japan, which caused khmer to conquer china and collapse. i won by being the only true nation in the world. (turkey conquered arabia and collapsed to respawned babylon, and russia collapsed after conquering germany then losing those cities to france, who then collapsed after having too many cities in germanies core area.)

Once, on my first turn as the Americans, I got the greed quest, asking me to gain control of the horses 1SW of my starting location which was in English Borders. The next turn, the tile flipped along with the eastern seaboard and I got something like 15 Calvary units as well as the extra troops you get when England declares war on you :D

wow, that is awesome flame

Heraclius's reconquest of Jerusalem :) Except that in the real life it happened much earliear and the Holy City was reconquested from Persians, not Arabs But still looks kinda nice when Byzantines have some success :)

OMG/Damn! That is hilarious. You have to keep us posted on how that turns out.

I saw an Indian Hattusas once, though the fact that the Indians seem to be using Byzantion well makes it much more interesting...

Does the Arabs appearing precisely after Egypt, Babylon, Persia (and pretty much the rest of the ecumene) had been devastated by a plague, and thus having an almost unitless world lying before their perfectly healthy Camel Archers count as an OMG case?

I like to make it so the units match the civ,so one time I was being invaded by Egyptian Axemen,Nubian Spearmen(Impi - Mobility) and Skirmishers.

Sinking 25 ships require sometimes to chase coward English Trireme and fight in the ices of Arctics :)

Just one turn before this picture Sur was Babylonian capital and the only city. Babylon itself was Greek for 8 turns , maybe. So suddenly Independent folks in Shush remembered about Babylonian culture, Sush became Babylonian capital, but Sur became Independent or Independent2. :crazyeye:
