But I sometimes see Muslim Vikings because they spawn at war with most Europeans. And also Russia (because of spawning far away from Christians and next to Arabs/Byzantines.
 
It's still funny that Pagan is not pagan :lol:
 
For the first time I played a whole game as Russia without Turkey bothering me at all. They were too busy taking over Europe!

With Russia, go straight for Paper and build the University of Sankore. Build Christian temples and monestaries, then build commerce/research buildings at the earliest opportunities, beelining the techs that allow you to build them. Choose 10-12 good city sites and run Representation/Bureaucracy/Mercantilism. Later on switch to Free Religion. When your cities have nothing better to build, have them build Research.

Any tips for good city sites?
 
Kiev is a personal favorite, I like going for St Petersburg as well.
At Siberia look out for Novosibirsk.
