got it, now there's another one, in my new USA game. these games are so strange...
Dutch had New Armsterdam too, England never got any colony in North America, with a interest in Australia. the Netherlands are doing very nice in this game, with a massive score and many colonies (look at South Africa, and they had New Armsterdam, like i said before, they may jump to Indonesia and Australia at any time, and maybe come in conflict with UK?)

bad thing i will have to burn them. i would love to have the Dutch as allies they were nice to me so far, but later will have to kill them...

EDIT : Take a look at China! theyre going on quite nicely in this game! they now were able to get a defensive pact with Germany (and i got a def pact with China too, a tri-pact in fact, because i already had a def pact with Germany )
EDIT2 : forgot to point out that China is also one of the Tech leaders.

If i remember here were crusades to take back constantinople, all of them ended in failure. still a nice thing to see, take this ottoman bastards!
and of course, the Russians had interest in taking back the Second Rome.

The fourth crusade ended up taking Constantinople from the Byzantines, due to Venetian interference. And it looks like this is what happened here, with Turkey having just been spawned.

WoW, never saw something like this. willem refused to tribute me gunpowder, i dowed him,burned armsterdam and the @#%!¨@ had a city in caribbean. i peaced out whiout capitalizing him (why i would want such a weak and useless vassal like a useless island?)
(forgot to say, Islam was the first religion to spread to Armsterdam)

(playing DoC btw, so that's why the cross in Rome isn't brown, and also because there's a lombard league)

There is a chance that Christianity will auto-found in an independent or barbarian city if Theology is not discovered by anyone after a certain point in the game. I believe this is what happened here...

if Jerusalem is a independent city it will be founded in it, so that means if you conquered it christianity may end up founded by the arabs. (or a independent city)

NOW SERIOUSLY, WTH. JUST SAW THIS I EVEN WENT TO THE WORLD BUILDER AND CHECKED EVERY POSSIBLE CITY THAT COULD HAVE BIGGER CULTURE THAN PARIS, NO CITY HAD IT! I HAD EVEN 4 GE TO WIN A UHV IN THIS !

now i guess the only option is giving me a domination vic with the world builder?

yes, only core french city i changed was Bordeaux (with WB, moved it 1 S)

when i think of it, in the victory menu do all the cities are shown? or just the ones that i know? idk, maybe when i was deleting bordeaux i did something and that altered the game
anyway, i think i lost the save (its usual for me saving over old saves, because i use like RFC USA for my saves), but i do have a autosave from 1700~

I'm not sure, but it could be possible that the victory screen shows the civ that is overall closest to cultural victory, not just that with the most cultured city (e.g. a hypothetical one-city-civ with a massive culture capital wouldn't be displayed).

China appears to have collapsed (looks Grey). Do they have a super culture city there? I don't think Independent cities will show up in the victory screen.

It became independent, but as you can see by the name the city in Iceland is clearly founded by The Netherlands. ('s Gravenhage is the (old) Dutch name for The Hague).

idk, i think i checked their holy city, and it would be the biggest cultural city in Asia.
maybe some independent city got it, because theyre minors, so they can't win the game and wouldn't show up in the vic screen, but i don't remember where is the holy city in china, taking a look at the map we see that khmer expanded northeast in china, that means that if they got the holy city its culture would be back to 0...
and considering that in this mod there isn't confu i think its quite hard that they have a massive culture city in china or japan (the taoist holy city)

another option would be in 1700 a massive culture city getting conquered some turns after it (i checked this around 1716-1720~)

Baghdad, a city that wasn't visible on my map, and that I had no border with, wanted to join me!!! It later revolted, but i didn't keep it for stability reasons
