Soda, coffee, etc., are hypotonic in relation to the body; because of osmosis, we lose water after drinking these solutions.

In addition, certain molecules (caffeine, ethanol) can bind to molecules that affect water balance or trigger the release of such molecules.

For americans: Have you ever met a western european living (and I mean LIVING) in the states? Wouldn't that make him/her one of the last western european immigrants?

Well there's my dad but he left when he was around 9-10 years old so I don't know if you'd count that. Other than that, not really, mostly just Poles and a few Russians are all the immigrants I know from Europe, other than some young Italians at pizza places for some reason.

There are all sorts of people born in Western Europe living over here. And people continue to arrive. Just the number of (legal) immigrants are more diverse these days.

There's this really really old guy in commie class, he looks like he's 80. He sits in the front of the class, next to me actually and its freaking weird and he argues with the professor. What is this old 80 year old guy doing in a undergrad commie class? He's a lawyer apparently. Has he been sent here for re-education? Is this part of Obama's FEMA camp?

Also, if a President gets killed in his 2nd term while in office, the Vice President takes over and serves the remainder of the term. Does the 2 years the VP serves of the President's term count as a term for the VP? So is the VP only eligible to run for re-election once more? Or does it not count, and is he eligible for re-election 2 times still?

If the VP takes over, he's used up 2 of his 10 years of being the president.

Depending on specific dates, he can run once more, or twice more; I'm not really sure how that part of it works.

I'm not american but I know loads of people who were born here in Ireland who live in the states.

Four of my friends from school live there now.

My window is frozen open. I don't have a hairdryer and I can't turn the heat on. How do I close it?

If I turn the heat on, my bedsheet will burn up. I've already tried and the edge of one got fried and my mom says not to turn it on again.

Move your bed sheets away from the heat source and then turn the heat up. Then take some tool and try to chip away the ice that's blocking the window. Or borrow a hair dryer from a neighbor.

Why did you have your window open, in Winter, in Canada in the first place?

Click the X on the top right hand corner. Or try Ctrl-Alt-Del and if that doesn't work restart your computer.

I'm just switched channels and there is a French film on - L'équipier.

There is a scene in a summer festival but all the music is Irish - why?

Star of the county Down and Trasna na dTonnta (over the waves) are two I picked out

Well I managed to get the ice off the window using a hammer (and without breaking any glass) but thanks anyways.
