If CFC is all loving, then why are there so many trolls?
About 4 people, 600 to 1200 depending on deal for washer with or without dryer, space won't be too much of an issue.
I guess I'll go ahead with signing up for a 1-year subscription with Consumer Reports. There were previously some really good deals on major appliances, unfortunate enough as the deals ended last week.
Gives me time to contemplate the purchase. Thanks!
Edit: A group of Chinese Christian.. missionaries (?) from a local Baptist church (from pamphlet) just came knocking at my door. What is the -- I assume a Christian denomination of some kind -- Baptist church? Why would they go around inquiring and informing the neighbourhood about their thing?

In the US top loading machines are overwhelmingly dominant. Up until less than 10 years ago you would probably never even see a front loader outside of a commercial establishment in the US. They've only recently made a comeback.

Can some people please explain to me exactly what they like about Obama and the democrats in charge now? I just can't understand why or how anyone could think any of the stupid crap they're doing is good for anything. I'd especially like to know what exactly Europeans like about him/them.

I like that he hasn't overthrown the Constitution and is little more GQ than W. was, on the world stage. I also like that he hasn't yet had the time to start some civil service draft or whatever other left-wing impulses that he appears to be keeping under check, somewhat.
EDIT: So in other words, he appears to be mature, and maybe even responsible.

I liked his Cairo speech, his stimulus (before the Republicans just turned it into a tax cut bill), and some other things (Gitmo, banning enhanced interrogation, etc.)

Well, he seems quite capable of handling difficult issues tactfully; can agree to disagree. Big plus in my book.Really?

3. Pragmatic foreign policy without being a slave to ideology.
4. Taking the right side on common sense issues like gay marriage and torture.
As a quick and vague overview, since you're asking for why I prefer ALL democrats + Obama.

I don't think he's expressed much of an ideology in the foreign policy realm, other than he obviously leans towards isolationism, rather than interventions. His actions have been fairly inertial with the prior status quo of the nation, though--rather non-ideological. He's not really fought with his military advisors on deployments, except cosmetically. He's made typical remarks about Iran and NK, marginal public comments.
Not really discernable in that realm, methinks.
EDIT: Musing on Azale's comments, I summarize Obama as a tactful waffler, which might in part being that we're only at around 6months (which oops reminds me, we have to start blaming him for stuff now.
)1. He is not unconditionally talking to various "badguys" like some righteys thought he would, he is playing the diplomatic game and using the current popularity he has in the world to do it.
2. He is drawing a line in the sand with Israel in regards to settlements. This is a new development for any US President to draw any kind of line for Israel not too cross. The Israel lobby is just as influential on Democrats as it is on Republicans and it's good that Obama will not sell out to it if he sees it as against the security interests of the US.
3. He has continued the Merida Initiative in Mexico, as started by Bush & Calderon in 2006.
4. Iraq is being slowly withdrawn from, as according to the wishes of the people and the government. But not as fast as Obama originally promised, he has changed his policy according to facts on the ground.
5. The beginnings of his North Korea policy appears to be an attempt to stop the vicious brinkmanship cycle. We'll see on this one.
