I'm aware of the asteroid. It was named after the name chosen for the supposed 10th planet which never existed. I was wondering when the 10th planet idea was discarded. As I said, I was shocked to see it mentioned by Clarke at all, let alone in a book written that late.

Lowell proposed the Planet X hypothesis to explain apparent discrepancies in the orbits of the gas giants, particularly Uranus and Neptune,[1] speculating that the gravity of a large unseen ninth planet could have perturbed Uranus enough to account for the irregularities.[2]
Clyde Tombaugh's discovery of Pluto in 1930 appeared to validate Lowell's hypothesis, and Pluto was officially considered the ninth planet until 2006. In 1978, however, Pluto was found to be too small for its gravity to affect the gas giants, resulting in a brief search for a tenth planet. The search was largely abandoned in the early 1990s, when a study of measurements made by the Voyager 2 spacecraft found that the irregularities observed in Uranus's orbit were due to a slight overestimation of Neptune's mass.
What are the rules of the road concerning surface trolleys in the cities that have them? Do they stop for stoplights? Have the right of way? Cars not allowed in their lanes?

They must stop for red lights. The ones on tracks don't necessarily have right-of-way, but they're usually given it. The ones that are essentially buses powered by an overhead wire behave just like normal buses in all respects.

Given just a person's name, how would you go about finding out if he was in fact convicted of and jailed for beating his wife about 15 years ago (and she has a permanent restraining order) and arrested more recently for drug possession? Googling his name (and the former wife's name) turned up nothing.

If people could refrain from the many and obvious innuendos that will only get us all into the mods bad books...
The religious right, esp in the US and OZ bang on about the sodomites. Do they include the whole of the biblical injunction that would include oral sex? It's just that they always go on about how the bible is clear about sodomites but never seem to mention that as far as the bible goes sodomy includes oral sex within marriage.
That may be because the bible does not condemn oral sex within marriage.
I'm pretty sure that using the term Sodomite (or other languages' equivalents thereof) to refer to those who practice certain sex acts is a later development, not present in the bible but found much in later Christian, Jewish, and especially Islamic tradition. Although there are many "blue laws" in the US (which the supreme court has rendered unenforceable) declaring all but vaginal sex to be sodomy, I'm pretty sure that that is a fairly recent development in the meaning of a word that previously was only used for those who have anal sex with another man.
Technically, the old testament only bans a "man from lying with another man as if with a women." Many interpret that as only meaning the act of male-on-male penetrative anal sex. Nothing in the Law of Moses bans Lesbianism. The New Testament however is clear that female homosexuality is at least as bad as male, and I've heard that the Talmud also says it should be extended equally to women too.
Catholics and Orthodox Jews hold a view of "Onanism" that would ban oral sex to the point of the male ejaculation, but this view is almost universally disputed by protestants and is doubted by many Jews too. A plain reading of the text would say that the sin of Onan should not be interpreted as spilling the seed but simply as avoiding getting his wife pregnant when she wanted a child and was entitled to one under the laws of Levirate Marriage. He was required to marry his dead brother's wife to provide her with a son to bear his brother's name, claim his inheritance, and take care of the widow in her old age. Onan's choice to deny her a son was motivated by greed, as leaving her childless would increase his share of his father's inheritance. I think I read that the Talmud bans it on the grounds that the law only condemns acts and not desires or motivations, even though many think the problem was the motivation. That justification doesn't really stand up in Christianity though, where sin is seen as occurring in the will.
From what I've heard even the Catholic Church is fine with oral sex (without ejaculation) as part of foreplay between husband and wife. Also, the Talmud apparently describes oral and anal sex as unnatural, but then says that unnatural sex between husband and wife is perfectly acceptable and not sinful so long as both parties are willing (and there is no seed spilled).
While the Catholic Church has long had a rather negative view of sex in general, I think that is based more on Greek philosophy dealing with the dualism of evil matter and good spirit than the bible. In Judaism sex between husband and wife is a Mitzvah (a commandment or good deed), and not just for reproductive purposes but also for comforting each other and fostering emotional intimacy. I think that view fits scripture better. In the gospels we see that Jesus portrayed monogamous sexual relationships between husband and wife as ideal. His disciples came to the opinion that celibacy was better when they heard just how loyal Christ demanded we be to our wives. Christ himself seemed to say that some are better suited for celibacy but for most marriage is best. The epistles also clearly state that married couples ought to satisfy each other sexually. It is declared sinful for either partner to deny the other sexual satisfaction except as part of prayer and fasting, and that even in those cases they must agree that said sex fast is temporary and set time for them to join together again. The bible certainly calls for chastity, but celibacy is purely optional and countenance for married people is portrayed as wrong.
It is widely believed that these lines in Song of Solomon refer to cunnilingus, and in quite a positive light. That is a kind of oral sex too, and there is no basis for banning it.
Spoiler:
Song of Solomon 4 and 5 said:
12A garden locked is my(AJ) sister, my bride,
a spring locked,(AK) a fountain(AL) sealed.
13Your shoots are(AM) an orchard of pomegranates
with all(AN) choicest fruits,
(AO) henna with(AP) nard,
14nard and saffron,(AQ) calamus and(AR) cinnamon,
with all trees of(AS) frankincense,
(AT) myrrh and aloes,
with all choice spices—
15a garden fountain, a well of(AU) living water,
and flowing streams from(AV) Lebanon.
16Awake, O north wind,
and come, O south wind!
Blow upon my(AW) garden,
let its spices flow.

I gathered my(C) myrrh with my spice,

I have a little glass figure of a horse. The leg broke off in such a weird way that it would be tricky to superglue it back into place. How do I fix it?

Perhaps Im be rather dense. Sodomy means oral, anal or bestial sex. That is what the word means, there is no debate whatsoever on the topic. A person who in engages in oral sex is, without any possible debate, a sodomite.
How do those who through the term sodomite about reconcile that with the reality of the situation on the ground?
(ohh the innuendos I could make if I wasnt being a good boy)
I have never, ever, seen the term defined that way. I also don't know of any Bible translations that use that word specifically, although I don't really know many translations.

Sodomy (pronounced /ˈsɒdəmi/) is a term used today predominantly in law (derived from traditional Christian usage) to describe the act of anal intercourse, oral intercourse, or bestiality
