Because it wasn't recognised as a word? Only "mom" was? Offensive to Muslims/blacks?

Why did that advert on the TV for some hair product (I think it was Pantene) censor the word 'mum'?

Having not seen it, probably a play on aging being somewhat taboo.

Can anyone explain this free healthcare that Alaskans get? I went to www.alaska.gov and didn't find any info on it. Well, nothing obvious.

According to this, "approximately 17.7% of the population remains uninsured", which is above the national average. As for the portion that gets state funded insurance, remember that Alaska is the most socialist state in the union, and derives most of it's revenue from taxing oil exports.

According to this:

Only 5.6% get "Other public" insurance, which is the only category for state funded health care, unless Medicaid and Medicare include those too. And the % uninsured in Alaska is higher than the US average, so Alaska isn't quite as good as I thought.

I recently bought the soundtrack album for Gladiator, but a problem happened after I ripped it to my computer. What do I put down as the artist for the individual songs? I already done the overall album artist and the composers, but I don't know what to put down for the artist for each song. I tried reading the booklet but that didn't help.

Of course that only helps if you're looking for composer (which in this case, I would put as artist for organizational reasons). Or are you looking for the performer's too?

Is it legal to pretend to disperse rioters with nerve gas? They're spraying tear gas, but they're decked out in full military-grade hazmat suits, act very carefully when handling the "nerve gas", and then issue orders on loudspeaker for all units to evacuate the area.

Nah, some people still go on rioting through the gas, covering their faces with rags. I doubt they'd do the same if the gas was perceived as deadly.

When Captain Kirk says, "Captain's log, stardate: supplemental," what the hell is "supplemental"?

Means he's supposed to make an entry a day. If he has something to add after the day's entry, you make a supplemental entry.

My impression is that social democrats are not socialists; they are only mixed economy fans. Democratic socialists are Marxists who believe Marxism can be achieved through democracy.
