The Realms Beyond - Succession Game Discussions

War. Huh? (p. Who) Yeah. What is it good for?

Getting Grey Fox to sign up...

Glad to have you aboard. Say it again y'all

Absolutely nothing! Good God, y'all! Yeah, I'm in. (Damn, two post rule). Fox, you sure you can stomach another SG with me?

Edit: @Zalson:

Man, I'm totally down with all the human rights activism, but it's a total mindf--k that you forgot about the trees, man. Like, trees have souls. Trees dream. Mother Gaia made trees as homes and shelter to all her children. You want to allow the cutting of these beautiful creatures for your capitalist, Bourgeoisie hegemony? I say NO! SAVE THE TREES!

I'm sorry. I just get worked up over all this fu--ing war, man. Fu--ing Nixon. Hey, can I get a hit of that?

Zalson, maybe open a thread so we can spam that one?

@ Rex, I like that idea for the trees, too ~ w/o chops or whips, all our early production will be our own ~ interesting little sub-vairant there

@ all RB17ers: to go along w/our "honorable" war rules, perhaps, to refect our anti-war nature, we must accept any equal peace terms that are offered to us? just a thought ~

Can I bring my bong?

I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him where are you going
And this he told me
I'm going on down to Yasgur's farm
I'm going to join in a rock 'n' roll band
I'm going to camp out on the land
I'm going to try an' get my soul free

Let's look at this in detail. 1966's hippies are 2006's Republicans. So any war we're dragged into, 40 years later, we can claim entitlement.

 This should be fun

As for the 'make peace ASAP'... I thought I had written that down. New thread will be up in a few.

since several SGs are wrapping up (including the Queen Mother one), i've got an idea:

Proposed RB18: Romanus eunt domus!
"People called Romanus, they go, the house"
[it says Romans go home!! - No it doesn't!]

This event has been inspired by the Epic 4 deity challenge. In this one, though, the Romans are our sworn enemies and we will remain locked in war with them, and the barbs are on our team! Oh, it's a OCC on Noble or Prince, conquest-only win!

Civilization: The Peoples Front of Judea (NOT the Judean People's Front!!!)
Leader: Reg

though, i'm not sure which actual civ will be ours.

anybody interested??

Pythons quotes notwithstanding, alas, I lack for time, Pholk. Though, If I were playing, I'd say that the OOC teamed with barbs thing is still going on in that other thread.

I love the Judean Peoples' Front of Judea concept, though. Will the leader be named Brian, by chance?

Hmm...i guess i missed that thread...well, i'm open to suggestions and concepts that are in the spririt of the game.

alas, as the leadership of the PFJ is Reg, he is our leader. (but he can't particpate in anything b/c of a bad back!)

Centurion : What's this, then? "Romanes eunt domus"? People called Romanes, they go, the house?
Brian : It says, "Romans go home. "
Centurion : No it doesn't ! What's the latin for "Roman"? Come on, come on !
Brian : Er, "Romanus"!
Centurion : Goes like?
Brian : Annus.
Centurion : Vocative plural of "Annus" is?
Brian : Er, er, annus, anni, anno, annum, anno, anni... "Romani"!
Centurion : (Writes "Romani" over Brian's graffiti) "Eunt"? What is "eunt"? Conjugate the verb, "to go" !
Brian : Er, "Ire". Er, "eo", "is", "it", "imus", "itis", "eunt".
Centurion : So, "eunt" is... ?
Brian : Third person plural present indicative, "they go".
Centurion : But, "Romans, go home" is an order. So you must use... ?
(He twists Brian's ear)
Brian : Aaagh ! The imperative !
Centurion : Which is... ?
Brian : Aaaagh ! Er, er, "i" !
Centurion : How many Romans?
Brian : Aaaaagh ! Plural, plural, er, "ite" !
Centurion : (Writes "ite") "Domus"? Nominative? "Go home" is motion towards, isn't it?
Brian : Dative !
(the Centurion holds a sword to his throat)
Brian : Aaagh ! Not the dative, not the dative ! Er, er, accusative, "ad domum" !
Centurion : But "Domus" takes the locative, which is... ?
Brian : Er, "Domum" !
Centurion : (Writes "Domum") Understand? Now, write it out a hundred times.
Brian : Yes sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caesar, sir.
Centurion : Hail Caesar ! And if it's not done by sunrise, I'll cut your balls off.

@pholk
I would be interested in the MontyPython RB SG
Never did SG before, but you have to start at some point, I guess.
So:
"But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?"

Lets give it to them!:D

I would be interested in the MontyPython RB SG

I can see it now...It is an Ex Axeman! This Axeman has ceased to be....love it.

Also, failure to found of Judaism requires a restart?

I'd be willing, but I won't be able to play to the end, so no :(

okay, rexie and harmless are in. I'll hold out for a couple of more people for now before i post on the full board here. Rex ~ the Judaism rule might be a good idea.

In the meantime, any other suggestions re: the game, esp. difficulty, map, leader/civ and other variants??

one of my most fav LoB moments:
Woman w/donkey on shoulders: "ah, i can't go to no stoning. 'e's not well again" Donkey: eee-haw!!

also,
rich woman: "Blessed are the cheese makers?!?"
rich man: "obviously it's not meant to be taken literally. He is referring to all manufacturers of dairy products."
