The silliest thing you've done recently

In my previous game (my first prince game I might add), with a gigantic tech and production lead, deciding to win the game by nuking everyone to submission.

After having produced over 120 ICBMs, Hannibal tells me some deal won't work out for him anymore. Me, feeling all-powerful, demand the resources back as tribute.

Next turn: "Alright, time to end this!" - nope...

MUHAHAHA.

That one's hillarious :D .

It's not as good as Monty winning a diplomatic victory, because Monty and diplomacy is an oxymoron itself, forcing onesself into a peace treaty before attacking is awesome, that happened to me already at least twice, only that AIs are the ones that ask me for a tech and I, brain-AFK as I sometimes am think "yes, why not give them this tech -> *clicks accept* " :D .

I just owned myself, when trying to pull of an Engineering rush, by wanting to bulb it with a GS:

Nice start, sipped.

Told myself: Must not go Fishing, must not unlock Philosphy.

Rexed to 5 cities, bribed everyone against each other.

Oracled Metalcasting, researched Machinery and created a GS.

Made sure that GS could really bulb Engineering, but then thought: Wait, if I have engineering, I'll maybe lose my underdog bonus and Civs won't be willing to trade with me anymore.

And so I traded for CoL. :stupid:

I declared war on Bismarck. I was all set to do a cuirassier rush when I discovered that my source of horses was Germany. That particular trade deal had been going on for so long I'd forgotten I didn't actually have any horses of my own.

This is actually a silly thing I do all the time.

I am forever sending arial units on recon (binoculars) missions but... because the game instantly flings you to your next unmoved unit... I'll wind up finishing the rest of my moves and end my turn without ever examining what the recon mission revealed. If I were a pilot in my forces I'd resign.

I remember leaving port once as a Privateer when the AI could build Frigates.....

Not me but, my friend was quite happy on wine or something worse and was constantly asking me to capitulate cause he had nukes and I didn't. I foolishly refused everytime.....

Somehow his first nuke hit his own staging area.....

Last game playing as England, named all my cities after Monty Python references.. Was going great until Shaka decided he wanted the city of They call me... Tim? I had to run away to the city of Brave Sir Robin in order to regroup.

One of my first experiences with privateers was letting one pass by my colony. Bye bye privateer.

Yes, it's rather annoying that your vassals don't recognize your letters of mark and reprisal!

Its seems that the AI can gift you techs. Which, I hadn't known because every single instance of an AI trying to talk to me with one tech in the diplomacy view has been assumed as a demand to get it from me and been cancelled......how many free techs have I refused?

"Bravely bold Sir Robin
Rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die,
Oh brave Sir Robin.
He was not at all afraid
To be killed in nasty ways.
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin.

He was not in the least bit scared
To be mashed into a pulp.
Or to have his eyes gouged out,
And his elbows broken.
To have his kneecaps split
And his body burned away,
And his limbs all hacked and mangled
Brave Sir Robin.

His head smashed in
And his heart cut out
And his liver removed
And his bowls unplugged
And his nostrils raped
And his bottom burnt off
And his pen--

"That's... that's enough music for now lads,
*** there's dirty work afoot*** ???."

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.

****Bravely**** taking ("I never did!") to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Robin!"

Monty Python - "Brave Sir Robin Ran Away" Lyrics ;)

Lol, yup. At least I didn't have to worry about any English swallows or what my favorite color was.

I usually name my first combat unit to get 10 experience points "Brave Sir Robin" because he runs away to my capital until I can build Heroic Epic.

Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
