It’s the Turkey.

It’s in the episode where Homer starts the "Hunting Club"(Bar) in his garage.
When Homer goes hunting for a Turkey he says "Turkeys, the only animal smarter than man."

Oh wait, it's not a beaver I was thinking about, it's a badger. The episode is the one where Springfield is split into 2 parts - 939 and 636. There's a badger in the backyard and Homer tries to get it and gets bitten and tries to call the hospital.
