The "size of government" paradox (with polling data!)

Negotiate. Heck, use collective bargaining. The government should stay out of it.

Because companies should be above society. :rolleyes:

And, as stated, some people would be willing to take those hours. What you are doing is denying those people a job that may even pay more than those who do mind would get paid.

There is no denying of jobs, only problems in wages.

Read my posts. I'm against banning working at night.

WindFish was not asking about why you want to ban working at night. Learn your sentance structure!

Its not that companies should be above society, but that any person should be allowed to agree to work for someone else at a mutually agreeable hour for a mutually agreeable price.

Here continues the illusion of equal negotiation power.

The Congress shall have Power . . . To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;

The constitution certainly grants the federal government the legal authority to do so, but it does not require that they exercise the power. In a modern world with internet connectivity maintaining a federal postal service is not nearly as important.

It certainly should not imply that the Federal government should be able to grant a de jure monopoly over postal delivery. That is neither necessary nor proper, in my opinion.

Agreed.

I'd rather them just repeal the power (Roads back to the states, postal service to private companies) but that's just me;)

The Royal Mail in Britian does a good job in Britian and it is goverment owned. "Private" does not equal "good" as "public" does not equal "bad" or vice versa.

Are you kidding me? The Royal Mail is bloody useless! NHS is a better example. Or Electricite de France or something.

Well... I guess it depends on the area...

But yes: the NHS is a grand example of why public controlled does not equal ineffective and bad.

The US Postal Service gets a lot of crap. But is actually remarkably effective.
