The story of Indochina: A Khmer RFC
By Red_Spy
As Khmer
Ello readers who I have caught your interest. A while back if I recall remember a user (Mosher maybe?) who said that wasn't a Khmer story. Well, I will be changing that. Using the version of RFC that shipped with BTS, so things might be different. And I am playing on viceroy (warning: I am not the best player). Probably not going to go for the UHV, and don't be surprised if I don't win. So without any waiting I present the opening picture for you to see.

Ello readers. I invite you to a wonderful tell. I am the all powerful narrator of this here story. Grab some popcorn, get a drink, listen to some music, relax. For I present the best tale you shall ever read. Here is a map of Indochina. A beautiful land, and most of all.....

Ruled by me. Suyavarman the Great, Defender of the people, Destroyer of the Barbs, The Enlighted One's best follower, King of the land of Indochina, and Ruler of the Khmer Empire. The list of my achievments grow by the day, the hour, the minute. Yes some people call me fat headed, arrogant, pompous, but that is slander made by rivals who want to brind down freedom. Sorry, enough about me and my greatness on with the rousing tale.

I was sitting down by the lake, eating a mango, fanned by followers when I had an idea. I enjoy the riches that the earth holds, wouldn't it be easier to get them if we found a civilization. I mean the Chinese did it, it can't be that hard. So I got my subjects to build a city. Called Angkor. I was for Suyavarman City, but sometimes to have to please the people.

Next thing you know my slaves, I mean followers started builing roads to resources and collecting them for me. Their ruler. I mean they must love me, to go without question into the jungle to get them for me.

And then the Chinese to the north arive and ruin my fun. I could see his eyes narrow and a slight frown form on his mouth that Qin Shi Huang made when we told him that we follow the Great Buddha and want to bring peace to the world. Was it also the my greatness that annoyed his little brian? I don't know. I accepted "everlasting" peace with him to get him away.

Good start.

is this a 3000BC or 600AD start?

600ad

Why would you settle Angkor over Pnom Penh? This way, you are one of the coast, get some overlap with Hanoi (there is a lot of jungle in Indochina so you will soon run out of tiles to work until Biology) and get 6 useless coast tiles, which you can't build harbor for.

I like historical starts, and normally don't settle my capital somewhere else.

Settle 1E and 2N? and you get a pretty funny name.

Edit: 1W and 3N.

i'm surprised you have only just learnt of Bang Makok. in the UK it was a big part of primary school conversations.
"what's the capital of Thailand?"
"Bang Makok"
*bang*
"owww "

"I'm going to Bangkok"
