The Sumerian Empire

so, the Carthagians have the Numidian Mercenary and the War Elephant?

Yes. Carthage, Hittites, Persia and Babylon all had access to the War Elephant. In the industrial age the AI also has exclusive access to the ironclad, guerilla and the cruiser and all 3 have around 50% reduction in shield cost. There is also a light tank that 4 civs would be able to build at motorized trans., but only Rome and Byzantines survive out of that four.

how did other nations like Carthage get War Elephants?

In this mod, four of the eleven AI nations could train War Elephants. India was not in the game and I wanted to use the unit as a no resource alternative for the AI.

Thanks for continuing Takeo, I'm looking forward to air forces.

Takeo, may I post a recreation of the mod you're playing on? It won't have the reduced cost or AI-exclusive units or any of the Diety-Sid level except all techs are required, but it has all the new units. I just need the light tank and warrior monk's attack, and every new unit's cost. And how do you make earthquakes and minor civil wars in the editor?

What exactly do you mean? Are you wanting a copy of the map? or are you doing everything from scratch?

The normal tank has an A/D/M of 18.8.2 with +2 hp, and the light tank is 12.8.2 without the extra hp. The warrior monk has 3.2.1 stats. It is difficult to give new unit costs to you, cause they have been reduced like all the normal units. I would make the warrior monk around 30 and the l. tank about 80 shields. The machine gun unit would be about 80 also.

The earthquakes are really nothing. The map started out a random pangaea and you can see in the worldmap is a kind of sideways c-shape. The two islands in the center, two islands to the right end and two tiny island at the very top are added. Near my starting location I added rubble(that you get from a destroyed city) with the map editor. During the game, my units passed near it and the 'story' described it as my units coming across cities destroyed by earthquakes. That's it.
The civil war- If you look on the first post or have been following along, there were 12 civs in the game, including sumeria. There was actually a 13th civ, which was germany. If you look at the top of the worldmap, you see rome(orange) has settled a tiny island. There are actually two islands there, but one is entirely mountains. Germany started its settler on the mountain isle and obviously could not settle or explore. The island was also far enough away from the mainland to not be found accidentally by the AI. When the story had set up the 'civil war', I contacted that settler, gave germany a city on the mainland and then revealed them in the story. There would probably be no way to do this in a mod, for a person to play. It probably can only be done this way in a story.

I also need screenies of the whole Egypt-Byzantine-Hittite Island (East Island in Inland Sea), the city not shown on Rome-Old Babylon Island ( Big North Island in Ocean, and Byzantine Island (South Island in Ocean.)

I need screenies of the surrounding area to the 1st culture expansion of Thebes, Persepolis (or its ruins), Mecca, and Constantinople, and the second and third (if they started with the settler) city of everyone except Babylon, Greece, Rome's 3rd, and the Hittites.

I'm sort of confused as to what exactly you are looking for. Do you want ingame screenshots of AI starting locations?

Yes. And the location of every second and third city location except for Babylon's, Greece's, and Hittites. I only need starting locations for Egypt, Persia, Byzantium, and Arabia.

This has gone too far off-topic, we will continue this in the civ3 general forum under thread called- D'Artagnan59-pictures.

To anyone else- the next update is done and will hopefully be posted sometime today.

1540 to 1550 A.D.
Military Advisor- My King, our new divisional system is working very well. The 2nd Infantry Div. has easily destroyed 2 cities.

Science Advisor- A few of my fellow scientists have been working on something they call steel. It is an ultra-strong alloy, that could be used to construct some of the war-machines we now have on the drawing board.
King Gudea- Sounds good, you may put research time into this steel. Whenever you get a working prototype of one of these war-machines you spoke of, then I would very much like to see it.
Science Advisor- Right now they are only concepts and drawings, so it will be a while.

1560 A.D.
Foreign Advisor- Sir, Mursilis has contacted us with a proposal. He is at war with Egypt and would like to raise a trade embargo against them.
King Gudea- Is Cleopatra still upset about our war with Carthage?
Foreign Advisor- Yes and relations between our two countries have gone drastically downhill.
King Gudea- This would certainly add fuel to the fire. Do it and see if anyone else will join in.
s535-embargo_vs_egypt_w_hitt.jpg

Foreign Advisor- The Arabs and Byzantines have active trade agreements with Egypt, so an embargo was out of the question for both. Rome was the only nation willing to join in.

1570 A.D.
Military Advisor- The 1st Infantry Div. has destroyed Istanbul, with the loss of two machinegun units. They then moved within artillery range of Edrine and are bombarding the city, while the 4th Infantry Div. moves in from the northwest.

1580 A.D.
Domestic Advisor- Excellency, the Egyptian nation has passed an amendment to it's constitution, that has given women the right to vote.

1590 A.D.
Military Advisor- Commander, the Carthage city of Edrine is no more and the 3rd Infantry Div. has advanced into the fields surrounding Hadrumetum.

Military Advisor- While the 3rd Infantry Division was maneuvering toward Hadrumetum, they encountered a new military unit. Carthage has apparently developed a smaller machinegun, with a knife attached to the front end for use when ammunition runs out.

1595 A.D.
King Gudea- Has the Carthage military penetrated into our territory yet?
Military Advisor- There has been three major incursions and all three have been destroyed.

King Gudea- She is getting a little pushy, isn't she?
Foreign Advisor- You should also know that Cleopatra is attempting to turn Arabia against our war with Carthage.
King Gudea- Maybe she is a little miffed about our trade embargo against her. That's just too bad!
