Tuturuu!
No, the reason Poland is eastern is geographical.
What has Poland done besides get attacked?![]()
Historically we always done well with wars untill our political system at the time screwed us up. Sweden should've been a very powerful warning to us that things needed to be changed, and quickly. We didn't change it, nobles remained very powerful and it eventually led to the partitions, which were originally just a scheme to gain some border territories. Also attacking? Winning wars? Last war won in 1920 against... let me see... Soviet Union? After two major defeats and destruction of soviet armies?
During our 1000 year old history we were loosing wars, but also winning - normal thing. Some wars we won in a spectacular way.
So you have a strange books thenNot entirely your fault though it seems. But you see... you probably think such statements will irritate me, but in fact those who wrote such things make fools of themselves and shows only lack of knowledge. So, if someone choose to make a fool of himself just to give someone a buzz - the choice is his

Winning a war against a country barely a year old. Spectacular.
Still fresh out of a civil war and a world war.
That said, I know that Poland was once massive and has had several great accomplishments, but this isn't one of them.
Here we have a typical Slav response to a question.
The only noteworthy thing the Poles did in the past 400 years besides get invaded was fight in the Battle of Vienna. Wow, stop living in the past and get some new achievements.
No, the reason Poland is eastern is geographical.
Kansas and Nebraska are firmly in the center of the country. If you go a little bit to the East, thats the Eastern U.S. While part of Poland is in central Europe, most of it is in the eastern part.
You sound like world war I did not affected us. Poland was devastated - war took place also on our land. In 1919 we also were in a bad situation. And those two major battles that I speak of took place after Soviets managed to deploy huge army and were ready to send in huge reinforcements. If you compare capabilities (mostly human resources) then it was something extraordinary.
You say so because you've learnt about it few minutes ago?I have to dissappoint you - you still have much to learn

Hmm? First not-communistic government in post-soviet europe (before more famous "fall of Berlin Wall"), becoming a member of NATO and then EU. And while you suffered badly from the recession (and IIRC you are still suffering), Poland managed to maintain economical growth as the only one country in Europe IIRC.
We are doing a steady progress and who knows how Europe will look like in 2050? Who knows - maybe we really have such enormous gas deposits here?
We are still working on that! You have great economic growth because you were dirt poor in 1991 and now Poland has managed to finally get electricity. Let me know when y'all manage to get air travel.
Read my above post. The line of Europe goes through Eastern Poland, and that is with a flat map. In a proper map, the line goes through the middle of Belarus.
Hopefully Mirc reads this and reposts his map, but if not I will look for it.

Kansas and Nebraska aren't in eastern Poland, no.So if something is in the centre of something else then it is "eastern"? So Kansas or Nebraska are in the eastern part of the country, right?
I have a globe right here. If we use Belarus as the center of Europe, then basically the only eastern European country would be Russia.
1919 you were in a bad situation? If my country was ran by Poles, I'd be worried too.
Let me know when y'all manage to get air travel.

Actually, thinking about it a bit more (and consulting my globe), then yes, Nebraska and Kansas are eastern. Why? Because now I'm counting from the farthest tips of the country (the Aleutians).

Arguably Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Moldova? Preposterous.
Russia, togather with Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, and arguably Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Moldova are the eastern European countries.
I was speaking strictly west, central, east (without factoring north and south). your previous statement makes a lot more sense now.Estonia and Latvia are arguably northern European or Baltic states. Lithuania is I don't know, I consider it eastern but they are catholic, and share ties with Central Europe.
Moldova is Basarabia, a region of Romania. It is arguable whether Basarabia and Budjak(Ukrainian atm, historicaly Romanian) are Romanian territories and should be grouped up with Romania.
