"84 west, open fire!"
The 45th training platoon puts in suppressing fire onto the OPFOR unit in the training grounds in the forests of the Forgotten Vale. Then the 23rd training platoon advanced into position to overtake the OPFOR fortifying in a training village.
Elsewhere, in the traning compound, General Williams looks over the results of the training camp for his own evaluation. The General was pleased with the results and expects to put in more efforts to improve the army of the Republic. The commander of the base, Colonel Jameson approached General Williams about a new power armor suits that have been on the drawing boards.
"At ease Colonel" General Williams said as Col. Jameson enters the office.
"I'd like to inform you that Republic Dynamics have been in the process of developing power armor."
Gen. Williams looks over the schematics of the power armor. "The Mark I exoskeleton unit." he then places the schematics onto his desk "It looks more like a suit with pipes and wires on it."
"General, it's still in the prototype stage. The engineers at Republic Dynamics have placed it in their goal to make the suits more modular and compact." The Colonel hands the General the design goals "This is what they hope to achieve."
"Hmm" Williams scans through the paper "It looks far less clunky than the Mark I Exoskeleton Union. Hopefully, this would improve our combat effectiveness in hazardous conditions or raise a heavy infantry division." He then puts down the paper and looks at the Col. Jameson "Is there anything else from the Republic Dynamics Corp?"
"The defense contractor has been in development of improved driver gears for our Spider Tanks and better diesel and gas turbine engines for our tracked armored fighting vehicles. They're also developing combat helicopters."
"I'd like to personally inspect the developments of the Republic Dynamics." General Willimas said as he drinks his tea.

"So, with no true blue water navy available on this planet. What alternative do we have?" Captain Maddox said as the Department of Defense lobbied to start a navy. "The only thing that is available to us are what's known as 'air armadas'."
The Secretary of Defense pitched his idea to the naval captain that commanded the crash landed corvette
Mayflower II. "A navy doesn't entirely need a water to operate. Even the space ships in the Old Republic and the Galactic Empire had ships that can operate in a planet's atmosphere."
"I suppose that's true, but what about a dedicated air force?" Maddox said with a concerned voice
"Well, given the situation at hand, the air force and the navy would have to operate in a joint arms configuration. With the navy operating large vessels and the air force operating operating smaller craft like bombers and fighters."
"Eventually, the navy would need their own fighters if Airborne Aircraft Carriers become a reality."
"We will cross that road when that comes. Until now Commodore Maddox, the
RNS Lancer is about to be launched and christened. A guided missile cruiser that has Gauss Canons, turbo lasers, and of course guided missiles. The Republic Dynamics Shipyard division have just launched three
Venator-class guided missile destroyers adding to our 'air fleet'."
"So, what are my orders?"
"Commodore, I want you to take up the initiative General Williams has been undertaken for a couple of years now. Take the first fleet for a brief naval air exercise in the Forgotten Vale and take the
Lancer on her sea trials."
"I will secretary."

"So far I've only heard from one nation that accepted our trade proposal. I have yet heard from the Citadel Republic on their response to our proposal." Hanna said as she reviews the diplomatic reports.
"I'm sure they're a bit busy at the moment"
"Well,
I just want to make sure that our trade proposal to the Citadel Republic is still open" Hanna then puts down the folder "Is there any other developments that I need to know about?"
"I see nothing wrong with having a defensive pact with the Numenors. But I'd have to put this through congress first."
"SODS have also contacted with us. It appears that by some bizarre means considers us as 'Coruscant' and 'Space colonialists'."
Hanna takes off her glasses and places them on her desk, then she looks at her Secretary of Foreign Affairs "Were nether a colony nor associated with the Galactic Empire. There is no Coruscant anymore, just the Imperial City."
"Perhaps, SODS, came from another universe or something and the Republic of Solitude gives them memories of a nation state similar to what they've encountered in their own universe."
"Well, what is it that SODS want?"
"Apparently, they've been observing us and proposes an Industrial Research and Agricultural Agreement."
"I'd be more comfortable if our defensive contractors would be exempt from this agreement and our private sector would want provisions to have the agreement enterly voluntary for them to opt into."
Hanna's Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of Agriculture, each presented their own opinions to SODS's proposal. The first to speak is the Secretary of Commerce "I share your concern Ms. Antilles. Defense contractors within the Republic should definitely be exempt from this agreement in the name of national security. The private sector would be resistant to this by having them willingly give up their patents to a foreign entity. Likely if this was placed before congress, most lobbyists would want to have a provision to have an option to opt in for corporations in the private sector." He then adjusts his glasses "Should we make mention that our defensive contractors should be exempt and for private enterprise to have an option to opt in, then it would be beneficial for both our nations."
The Secretary of Agriculture the makes his statement "I see no harm with the Agriculture Research Agreement. While presidents and CEOs of our heavy and pharmaceutical industries would be resistant to the idea if there is no opt in agreement. I'm sure companies that produce agricultural equipment and chemicals would be open to this sort of deal."
