The Wonder List

Nice list guys. What about Hollywood, the Gateway Arch, Angel Falls, Global Positioning System, Space Station or Lunar Base?

Also, OP's list contains Sphinx twice. Just sayin.

I'd say GPS would be a national wonder, and Lunar base and space station required to build Spaceship parts.

Sphinx is twice as there are two different ideas for effects.

Silicon Valley
+ Great Scientist or Great Artist Slot
+ 10% Science, - 10% Modern Building costs, + 10% Culture
+ 5% culture and science civ wide
Special requirement: atleast 1 mountain and 2 cottaged hills.

(sorry, I meant that it lets you put in a specialist :p)

The Grand Canal (ala China)
No Maintainance road built from your capital to all your cities.
+ 25% trade income.
+ 1 food per trade route
Special requirement is completely flat terrain between three cities, including capital, on rivers. This must be the shortest way to the next city.

Petra: upcoming
Sphinx:
Panama Canal:
Mausoleum of Maussollos:
Statue of Zeus:
Abu Simbel: by sukritact
Ishtar Gate:
Temple of Artemis:
The Parthenon:

These wonders (plus other wonders not in the list) are now playable; more wonders are upcoming. The effects might be different compared to what you suggested, of course.

[...]Lunar base and space station required to build Spaceship parts.

That would push space race victory quite a long way into the future, past the other victory conditions. Assuming, of course, that a lunar base would only come with some very advanced technologies.

it makes about as much sense as having a book as a wonder and they did that with the great/national epic

Some ideas I dropped:

Monte Carlo: +25 :c5gold:, -25% :c5gold:
requires Electricity

(Stephenson's) Rocket: free great engineer
requires Railroad

Those two would be in the same column as the Statue of Liberty.
An idea I probably am going to do:

Global Seed Vault: scientist specialists +2 :c5food:
requires Genetic Engineering, tundra and a mountain

Hadrian's Wall
National Wonder, must have built a wall in all cities
+5 defense in this city. All units trained in this city have +25% combat strength against barbarians.

Route 66
World Wonder, must be built in city with roads linking to capital
No gold matinence for any roads linking to the capital.

Las Vegas Strip
World Wonder
+1 Gold per 1 population in this city.

Siberian Railroad
World Wonder, must be built in city with railroads linking to the capital
No gold matinence for any railroads linking to the capital.

I was thinking GPS as a great project rather than a wonder, like the Apollo Program.

I’ve been looking for new wonder ideas, especially for Civs which don’t offer many wonders yet. These are Germany (1), Iroquois (1), Ottomans (1), Persia (1), Russia (1), Songhai (1), Mongols (0), Inca (1), Spain (0), and Polynesia (1).
Here is my culture wonder idea for Germany:

Wartburg
"Wait, mountain – you shall become a castle for me!"
– Ludwig der Springer, founder of Wartburg

Tech Requirement: Chivalry
Cost: 600
Cultural Output: 2
Great People Points: 1 Artist
Effects: Choose one free Social Policy.

Founded 1068, the castle Wartburg is a former place of a minstrel contest around 1207, home of the saint Elisabeth of Hungary from 1211 to 1228, and refuge of the reformer Martin Luther 1521 until 1522, who worked there on the first translation of the New Testament into a modern language in over a millennium. His translation into the language of the people, instead of Latin, made it more accessible, causing a tremendous impact on the church and on German culture.
Wartburg became later a site of festivals and gatherings in the movement for German unification in the 19th century.

I'll do this one. I'm also doing a trade-based Torre Del Oro

Also, just out of curiosity... what are the wonders you have in the above summary for Songhai, Persia, Polynesia and Iroquois?

By the way, please don't call it "Wartburg Castle" because "burg" already means castle in German.

Songhai: Sankore Madrasah
Persia: Mausoleum of Mausolus
Polynesia: Moai Statues
Iroquois: Totem

The Totem at least fits best to the Iroquois because of the picture and the ability.
