The Wonder Thread.

Indigo only grows 3 to 6 feet tall, usually, IIRC.

The plants in the picture are taller than the houses. :p

I suppose the scale could be exaggerated to show off the plants, though.

I'm guessing you hit on it. Having to use a magnifying glass to see what it is might be a pain.

Are they going to make the Great Library available at Writing again? I hope not. That's getting the date wrong by approximately 3000 years!

The Great Library is unlocked in the civics tree. However, it must be built next to a campus with a library. So I'm going to assume that yes, technically, writing is required.

Ah. Well, as long as it's not getting built in the 2000s BC every game, I'm happy.

The thing that I like about the great library is how it has changed the wonder mechanic: rather than trying to build the great library early in order to snatch a certain tech, you will need to snatch the great library early in order to make its effect more powerful. Really cool reversal of strategy here.

Of all the French-built, post-Industrial wonders they coulda showed off today....

So far they have only shown off Wonders that we have seen being constructed elsewhere

The Oracle - As seen in the B-Roll

The Pyramids, Great Library and Eiffel Tower - As seen in the E3 Walkthrough

None of the videos shown showed us other wonders being built.

Beside, I'd hope they don't show any more, the best part is seeing them for the first time.

One thing I don't understand is how civ6 is going to portrait wonders - and their constuction - which sre not 'conventional' singular architectonic pbjexts.

I mean, Machu Picchu for example. Or other wonders being either entire cities themselves or bonded with very specific terrain. If civ6 was to have Banaue Rice Terraces, Lalibela Churches (carved in stone), great walls or idk, Mount Rushmore... It could hardly depict them.

Not to mention such wonders as International Space Station, Hubble Telescope etc.

Something like Macchu Pichu or Mt Rushmore could be required to be built on mountain tiles . . . Or might be absent from the game completely.

Space wonders could get launched from a spaceport.

Re: mountain wonders... in an ideal world the engine would be able to apply some boolean grafix wizardy to the mountain tiles. Like A minus B equals C sorta stuff. Mountain minus The-Negative-Space-Around-Rushmore equals Mount Rushmore.

As others mentioned mountain wonders perhaps could just replace the mountin tile. I mean you canr move on the tile anyways.

For space wonders maybe they brought back the satelittle layer! :D

I wonder if wonder movies will be required for every wonder modded? Will there be some special tool from Firaxis to help create the wonder movies?

Has it been stated if Wonder tiles are passable by units?

Because I imagine The Eiffel Tower is going to cause clipping issues with Units, but at the same time if they are impassable what is stopping a player from surrounding their city with wonders?

I believe it has (& that they are)

This is totally speculative on my part, but considering that the movies are in engine, I would imagine that there is some support for it. Or at least I hope there is.
