This game is crazy good!

I consider it an excellent vanilla, the best Civ release so far, and yet hardly enjoyable for now. Poor AI, UI/info display issues, incoherent diplomacy ruin my fun for now.

I think the real beta of modern strategy games begins at release, and this is a gorgeous beta game. Gratz to the devs, take my money but keep working.

While there's definitely flaws (even I'm noticing the AI issues, and I'm an awful player generally, and having every AI hate me primarily because I have a different government type is weird), but that's usual for a new Civ release, and overall I'm having a lot more fun in 6 than I ever did in 5. This game brings me back to the cycle of interesting choices I felt like I had to make in Civ 3 and 4. Civ 5 always felt (though it eased up a little in expansions) like I was just waiting for the turns to go by, than waiting eagerly for the next turn, if you take my meaning.

No. You weren't "cheated." If you'd paid $60 and the game had crashed your computer, or you'd paid $60 for a boxed version and got it home to find that inside were two white mice and a picture of a smiling Sid Meier, you'd have been "cheated." Like it or not, you paid for a game and you got a game. If you don't like the game, that's entirely up to you, but to suggest you've been cheated is disingenuous nonsense.
cheated as in we were left with an impression that the game is much better than it actually is.

if you come to my business, and i exxagurate my product's benefits to you, thats cheating someone into their money.

moreover, with the trusted civ trademark, its like abusing trust to steal money. An example would be a very well- reputable bank deciding to falsify its recent collapse and tell its investors that its the best time to invest, when in fact the owner already knows the future fall but he just wants your money

Wow. You could use a money management course or something... Or are you that rich?

More like I've been playing video games for 20 years, and gone HAM on a couple of Steam-sales too much. And I've got a PS4 and Wii U console I've barely used. So let's just say it accumulates over the years. I just recently packed away some Dreamcast and Wii games I can't even remember if I played at all.

There's a lot to like about the game. I'm enjoying it. There's a lot that could be better, and so that's mainly what we talk about.

I would recommend the game to Civ fanatics, but I don't have to because if you're a Civ fanatic then you're already playing it. But I wouldn't recommend the game yet to the general audience, because despite the many great ideas in it, it is currently very unpolished in terms of UI, AI, and systems balance.

I am particularly fond of the builder building stuffs. It's fast and it makes sense too. As you mentioned, CIV 5 needs waiting and waiting which sometimes is a pain.

Agreed. 20+ hours in and I love it. Plus I'm confident that the modding community will end up fixing and making the AI much better. Fireaxis can continue to focus on creating new civs and expansions and the community can take it to the next level over the next few months.

Really..?? Are you kidding me?? It is Firaxis who should work on developing a decent AI, because it is their game. Modders are there to make little improvements, change a couple things someone may not like or create new civs. I guess everyone with a basic knowledge of coding could create a new civ, but AI is a major task. Fans shouldn't be forced to do that work for free.

The game has potential to be great. I love the concept of districts (and wonders built in tiles), technology/culture trees, great characters, agendas ( the idea, not how they work currently ). You all know why there is so much hate in this forum and its only the AI.
