IMO, the posts quoted are generally ignored by the community, and are quite harmless in the general scheme of the forum. OTOH, flame wars are frequently triggered in various threads by the same posters all the time, which results in a much more negaitve forum experience than the posts you have quoted.

I agree. When I'm reading through a thread and I see a certain name, I start reading faster, waiting for the flames to be fed. Likewise, when I'm discussing something and I see a renowned flamer come, I give up and wait for the thread to close while trying to reason with the flamer. I'm not giving any names here, so don't quote me on this.

Why don't you start your own thread about said inflammatory posters? I've seen several moderator actions along the lines of "behave like adults, you two" and warnings handed out for flaming, but much less in the way of "take your derogation* and vulgarity elsewhere", so I started this one.

I'd be more amenable to consider that suggestion if e.g. I had seen any sign, such as a few lengthy posts with good diction, that robo can comprehend multifaceted socratic irony. Or if robo weren't a fiftychatter, etc. For now, though, I'm going to file your post under "unhelpful".

No, it does not. Any humor in it is so low-grade, misogynist and derogatory that it's a step down from toilet humor.

Now, I could call anyone who disagrees with me a few derogatory names that are puns on their username, and insist that it's "funny" and anyone who complained would be hypocritical, but I won't.

To me, this isn't humorous innuendo. It's more like a set of serial lies, because it stopped being funny long ago. (Or if it's true, it's violative of a bunch of laws, breaking another forum rules.) It's so degrading that I find it morally offensive as well as unfunny and violative of forum rules.

Dude, I agree that it isn't very funny, but are you anti-humor or something? If the guy thinks he's being funny then let him post that, report it, but don't bring it to the public. It just shows that you're boring and can't appreciate a joke. Even if it is a bad joke, a post like this is just... boring.

AFAIK, Public Discussion of Moderator Action requires that there be action to discuss, and Mathilda is a mod, and didn't say anything.

Bold mine, seems to strongly suggest that it applies to complaining "X moderator shouldn't have given Y infraction" in public rather than to "Z seems to be in violation of forum rules".

No, they are simply funny and harmless. To class a joke as pornographic when it is really just an innuendo is completely out of proportion.

Actually I'd say pornographic would be better - the problem is not about being sexual (there are plenty of threads on legitimate discussion on sexuality, after all). The problem is that they are sexist comments that add nothing to the discussion.

I don't care if there's a "stupid immature sexual jokes" section/thread for them all to go in, but it's annoying if they clog up a thread that's trying to debate an issue.

And it's not innuendo when the comments are quite explicit.

There's no need to keep this going. We all can choose to report anything that we think would be against forum rules and the moderators can then interpret them. It's a pretty nice system and it's usually quite effective.

If we did that, then we'd have to undo that to understand the discussion ensuing from your posts, and that would just take more time. Furthermore, when you actually have something constructive to say, then we can't see it, and as a result can't participate. I have never ignored somebody no matter how mean or stupid they were, and I never will, since then they get their way, and that just can't stand. Why don't you just go do this kind of stuff in humor and jokes? It would be more appreciated there, and actually add to the discussion.
